Playing with R930T, A new revolution for pentax lighting system!

With the test unit playing around. I conclude this is something deserve having.

Here is part of the manual for it, in PDF format. I copy and paste the text here.

(pictrue here)

(Note: the enclosure, buttons , size, or shape of this is to be modified)

R930T new technics other than R930:

Accurate Output Power Setting
In manual mode, there are 1/256 to 1/1 power output settings, with 1/3 EV stop step. This is configurable. Depending on the use, be set to 1/2 EV. Or be without EV stops. Say 1/256, 1/128 … 1/2. 1/1( Which is already built in the R930 transmitter ).

Versatile Group Setting
User may not use all groups. Set the number of groups he can use to show in the screen. For examples: 1, 2, 3, 4, or more , Each number of group combinations has their own screen layout to make setting clear and fast.

Each group can be set in 4 modes:

PTTL +-EV.
The compensate EV is within range -4.0 EV to +3EV. To expand the range the camera menu provided. Making groups compensation independent.
Bi-Directional
Triggers act completely as a wireless wire. Making all functions of the flash be available.
Manual
In this mode a fix, controllable power can be set, allowing lighting meter usage.
OFF
R930 receiver would not fire at all but still can be recalled by the R930T to be other mode.

100% Compatible with existing R930 Radio System
Since the R930T is provided as a solitary transmitter. It need receiver to work together. The R390 receiver and the R930 transmitter are both able to serve as the receiver for R930T, supporting all functions with the R390T. The technics R930 already implemented, such as Bi-directional , flash status, recycle check, optical trigger others bare flash, other brand flash, rear… all would remain.

The R930T and the R930 transmitter firmware would be interchangeable.
Improving User interface
Including a large dial and many mechanical keys, the setting would be much easier and straight forward. An OLED screen would make the text clear to see even under great sunshine.
