Anyone using a Betterbeamer on AF540FGZ II?

Hello All,
I'm looking to buy a Betterbeamer for my AF540FGZ II, but having some trouble figuring out which model will suit this flash, all the details provided for the Betterbeamer, that I have seen thus far, seem to reference other model Pentax flash units.
Can anyone using a Betterbeamer with this flash please let me know which model you have and whether it fits OK?

Cheers,
Terry

Hello Clackers,
Are you using the FX-6 on the AF540FGZ II?
I just purchased an FX-6 and the fit on this flash unit is dreadful, it has about 5-8mm clearance and flops around.
I'll have to pack it out to ensure a firm fit.

Cheers,
Terry

Hi Terry!

But it's just two panels and the Fresnel ... I use a single Velcro strip wrapped around the flash to keep it on ... not sure if it's what came in the pack or not.

Used this setup just last week, no shims or whatever used.

Yes, that's the extent of what comes in the pack.
My FX-6 has the ends of the two side panels shaped to fit onto the flash but they're not the actual size or shape, and blowed if I can make it a firm fit with the kit provided.
I have now put longer stick-on velcro on top and bottom of the flash so the wrapping velcro latches on top and bottom, and that mod seems to be much better.
I suspect it might fit neater on one of the flash units the makers list for this model...or should be!

Thanks for your comments.

Cheers,
Terry

I put the side panels on the far end of the flash and they fit, it's just needing something to act as a bandage to keep them in place.

Last week at Mt Baw Baw I turned and really blasted this robin on the ski resort wall, I'm afraid ....

OK, sounds like the standard set up works for you.
I shoot handheld so needed a much firmer fixing.
So that's where all our robins have gone. Might have been safer to stay in this neck of the woods

Cheers,
Terry

(Laughs).

I shoot handheld, and hike with the flash in place.
