Are these a good intro to off camera flash?

I want to get into using off-camera flash, and some soft boxes etc, with my K-70.
Looking at getting these for my first setup. Seemed to have great feedback.

I have this setup. They are cheap but good manual Speedlite flashguns. I got mine from B&H for a similar price. Also look at an umbrella and stand for studio work. You can learn the basics with this setup without spending too much.

Thanks for the feedback.
Yeah, for a total of $300 I can get those, plus 2 octagonal softboxes, 2 stands, and 2 speedlite mounts. Seems like a pretty good deal for a 2 light setup

Yup, very nice!
I have a mkIII and a mkIV which as you know doubles as a trigger when I only need the off-camera flash, or both.
You'll have plenty of options.

Great choice

I have this set up. The tx560 trigger works really well for remote power and zoom setting. creates fabulous portraits...

And if you are really serious about it http://dedpxl.com/product/onelight/ is a very good video (7 hours) on using flash. Zack is a very good instructor.

Looks like unbeatable value for money, but that only works if the gear does not break. Have a look at the ratings of a single YN 560 IV unit (13% one star reviews).

Also be aware that this gear will never give you the ability to use shutter speeds higher than 1/180s (or 1/200s on a K-1). This need not be a limitation for your particular needs, but it is good to make a concious decision about it.

Cheap is what cheap does. We go in knowing that. Not giving up our day-jobs I hope!

That Yongnuo setup is an excellent choice, especially for the money. I have them and am happy with them. Godox however has surpassed Yongnuo recently with their offerings. Yongnuo has some quality problems and does not address these problems. Godox has surpassed Yongnuo in my opinion. Similar prices, and a more cohesive system.

Godox equipment is also rebranded under many other names including Bolt, and Flashpoint by Adorama. Ordering the Flashpoint by Adorama gives you excellent customer service. This is the equivelent flash to the Yongnuo ones. Flashpoint Zoom R2 Manual Flash with Integrated R2 Radio Transceiver FP-LF-SM-Z. If you can spend a little more and faster recycle times are important to you, this one has a lithium ion battery instead of AAs. Flashpoint Zoom Li-on Manual R2 On-Camera Flash Speedlight FP-LF-SM-ZL-V2. Here is the transmitter, Flashpoint R2 TTL Transmitter for Canon FP-RR-R2-T-C
