Potentially unsafe.
Some
Centon models have unhealthy trigger voltages.
I wouldn't use the flash unless you have the means to
measure the trigger voltage (all you need is a digital voltmeter).
Alternatively, you can use a hot-shoe device that insulates the camera from the flash's trigger voltage (typically quite expensive) or a radio trigger that can take the "heat". The latter option would allow you to take the flash off-camera.
Another caveat, though: My Centon FG105D was one of the very few flashes that wouldn't work with a basic radio trigger. It insisted on digital communication with the camera. I had to
modify it, to make it work with a radio trigger.
