Okay to use with Sunpak body?

I just got a Pentax/Dine Dental package (ZX-50; Dine 105mm; Dine Macro Flash)
The flash looks too automatic, with no Manual Mode. I thought the Dine was the same as the Sunpak 12DX Macro; I have the 8DX. The Sunpak has a Manual Mode, and the Dine flash head fits and works. I tried it a couple of times, but wonder if it is safe to continue to use the Dine head with the Sunpak body.

Your model is not featured in the list of measured speedlights, but you can measure the trigger voltage yourself (instructions are on the site I linked to).

Pentax DSLRs can take up to 25V.
