Received the package and am still reading the manual but have charged the battery and OMG, there is no delay between flash firings! It can apparently just fire one shot after the other w/out stopping or taking a breath. I am going to like this flash

Just checking how is going your happiness with this flash unit akptc. I'm very keen to get this flash as I need to be able to take one photo after the other without any delay due to recharging.

Is the Metz Adapter 3702 the only extra item I need to get to make this flash work in P-TTL mode?

Scored the SCA 3702 adapter from PC Nation (on Amazon), should be here in a week. Now it's just waiting for the mail..

Edit: well, this turned out to be a lie. PC Nation lied - they had zero in stock and took my order.

I've just come across to this item in DigiDirect which is an online shop based in Australia.

They're showing just one in stock. However, I don't have complete confidence in DigiDirect's stock management system. A couple of years ago I went in there (Melbourne store) to buy a DA 16-85, which was showing as 1 left in stock, only to find that was an error and they had none.

Update on the SCA 3702 module.

Metz Germany says, to make it fully K-3 compatible, I need to update the firmware to SCA 3702M3.1

The module I purchased is SCA 3702M2. Metz tech support told me M2 is directly updateable to M3.1

I called Vitec Imaging Service @ C.R.I.S. in Arizona who are the official Metz USA repair facility and their tech insists M2 is absolutely NOT updateable to M3.1.

So I am waiting for these two guys to figure out whats what... I little frustrating...

UPDATE

Literally seconds after I posted the above msg, I got a reply from CRIS and they WILL perform the firmware upgrade. SO, I am days away from having a fully K-3 PTTL compatible super-flash. Yeah baby...
