Metz mecablitz 76 MZ-5 Digital Flash

I'm thinking about purchasing this flash Metz mecablitz 76 MZ-5 Digital Flash. Mainly for events photography.

I can't find any information re the compatibility with Pentax k3 and potentially k1. Does anybody know if this flash works with k3? Also, I was told that I need to purchase extra accessories -- Pentax Hot Shoe FG and Pentax Hot Shoe Adapter F. Is this correct?

Not sure about that flash but my Metz 58AF2 worked just fine on my K3. I do have the accessories but that is only when I operate through my Turbo battery or If I am using the flash off camera on a bracket.

Just went to the Metz site and realized that flash is in another league, sorry I thought I had something helpful.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts Mr. Ed. I'm currently using Metz 50 AF - 1 but this flash is good for one shot at the time. I'm looking for a flash which has a quick recharge time around 1s. I also have the good old Metz 45 CT-4. I'd like to replace this flash unit with a digital version.

You'll need an additional Metz SCA Adapter which you may or may not find easy to source. I understand that the SCA 3702 would be ideal in your case.

Perhaps you'll find akptc's similar quest helpful and there is a bit more information in the thread started by Kerrowdown.

User awaldram has a wealth of knowledge about Metz SCA adapters.
@awaldram If you see this, perhaps you can help?

You made my day Class A as I already have SCA 3702. I have to use this Adapter with my analog Metz flash unit (45 CT-4). I'll find the thread which you mentioned by Kerrowdown.

Thank you also for the additional contact awaldram. My current SCA Adapter works and the coilt cable is a little bit loose.
