I use EBL AA batteries in my Pentax AF360FGZs (3) and in my Yongnuo YN585EX. I use AAA EBL batteries in my Cactus V5 trigger transceiver units. They work well. Just be careful to place the batteries in the charger right though, because if you do not the batteries and charger may become disabled. Otherwise they function nicely.

If you need batteries and do not have time to recharge, usually at the dollar stores there is a stock of 8 batteries in a pack for a dollar (from my experience in the U.S.).

Below is a shortcut to a product that is similar to what I have, if not the same.

I use the amazon basics ones and they're perfectly fine for my usage...infrequent but heavy when I do.

Thanks for that. I bought a PowerEX C900 and wasn't sure where to set the mA on to charge the batteries. Now I know. Now back to Bruce's question.
The old FAQ on the Maha site used to recommend a 0.5C. C being the capacity of the battery. So if the battery is rated for 2000mAh 1.0C = 2000mAh and 0.5C = 1000mAh. Going above 1.0C or below 0.33C is not recommended. Too gives excessive heat, too low and the charger may not detect the voltage spike that signals the cell is fully charged. Round the settings up to the nearest 100.

There are several schools of thoughts on whether a slow charge is better for the life of the battery or not. Some say the ideal is 0.33C. Some say it doesn't really matter. Maha assumes you'll be using 2000mAh cells and defaults to a compromise of 1000mAh. Use 1.0C for quick charge.

+1. These are the ones you want.

I think I'll grab the Ikea ones 2450 ones today, and the 900 ones for the AF201. How are the ikea chargers, ok? rubbish? well received?

How does the Godox PB960 connect to flashes? Can you then connect it to a AF360FGZII and a Cactus RF60x? I take it these battery packs are strictly for ocf only, there's no way to assist with a flash mounted in a hotshoe? Like... I noticed that the AF360FGZII has no screw mount for a light stand, you have to connect it via it's hotshoe to a stand, therefore if it needs a battery pack and the battery pack connects via the hotshoe... how can you mount it :/ (actually the AF360FGZII will likely have a V6ii(rx) connected to it's hotshoe...

Check on-line to see if your store has them in stock. I guess Marsden Park is your nearest store; they are showing "in stock" there.

Yeah checked stock already, will grab a few and the stock chargers, I'll see if I can find better chargers perhaps another day.

An overview of the "stock" Eneloop chargers. Note: some are available to certain markets/regions only and some are not included with batteries (separate purchase).

Thanks everyone for the input, I grabbed the following;

A few of these; LADDA Rechargeable battery - IKEA

A few of these; LADDA Rechargeable battery - IKEA

And one of this; STORHÖGEN Battery charger with storage - IKEA

Should do for the time being. I will look at the Godox PB960 when funds allow!

Here's a link to the old Maha/PowerEx FAQ on archive.org:
FAQ MH-C9000 - Maha Energy

Note that Maha recommends 0.5C for charging. The eneloop101.com site claims an Eneloop technician recommends 0.5C also.

I have a bunch of Energizer 2300 mAh AA's and 800 mAh AAA's, which have served me well for years in my flashes and Cactus triggers. Bought from OfficeWorks with same brand smart chargers.

I might look at the IKEA option next time!

I have a few sets of the IKEA Ladda batteries. They work just fine in my flashes. No issues at all. Charge with the Vapextech super smart charger.

For the Cactus flash, you'll need a Canon-compatible cable. Should be part of a PB960 deal or available as an accessory.

One of the "improvements" Pentax implemented for the FGZ II models is to eliminate the external power pack connector so you won't be able to externally power the Pentax flash.

The Duracell rechargeables work well. I found them better than the eneloops. I would get them too hot to hold in my attempts to get a shot of rather recalcitrant bats.
