D'oh! Knew I forgot something. Thanks! Still, doesn't do HSS, and has no radio triggering built in. But, will do "smart" optical slave, which is very nice.
Yep it works well triggered by my AF 360 or the on board flash with my KP. That is why I have several 585s now.

Just me, but return the existing 602RX, and purchase a pair of RF-603 II instead, for the reasons I stated upthread. I'd go with a "fulfilled by Amazon" dealer if you're using Amazon, or B&H if you're in the US.

I'm not a Pentax shooter, but I think the KX uses a 2.5mm minijack stereo connector for shutter release? That would match the Canon dRebel shutter release connection.

I went with the RF-603II. Hopefully, I'll get the pair I ordered and get use of them. The KX only has IR shutter, and I have an old TV remote I use for the purpose.

Alright, so the recommended pair of RF-603 II's arrived today and- no dice- one seems to be triggering the other, but the flash isn't triggering. I've check and double checked the connections. Flash is Yongnuo YN 460 II. What's wrong?

Ok, so maybe I'm missing something. The tiny hard to understand manual is showing a PC cable connecting between some flashes and the RF-603 unit. Should I obtain one of these cables to connect off camera YN460II and RF-603II even though the flash is sitting in the shoe already? Last resort- can't get the flash to fire with any way I've tried so far.... if not, these RF603's are going to have to go back.

Jon55, it may be that the pins/contacts on the flash and the trigger are not touching one another with the flash mounted in the trigger. Make sure you are sliding the flash all the way into the trigger. Or, perhaps try mounting the flash backwards from how you're doing it now.

I found the problem, a broken off wire inside the shoe (the ground). Once soldered back on, all is well. This was a flash I had modified to use a power supply with when inside and, since I never used the shoe for anything other than support until now, I didn't realize I must have broken off the connection after finishing the modification and resealing.

I am left with one new issue, however. On an identical 460 flash I keep as a spare, I notice the the battery cover has split in half. Normally, I'd try and glue back together with plastic glue, but the metal contact piece is also missing. Is there somewhere I can get a replacement cover? Thanks.

Brooke Meyer, true, but an awful lot just for a battery cover. If I can't find one, I'll have to improvise a way to repair the current broken one. They're all over eBay, but none for this flash
