Triopo Speedlight TR-960 II?

A friend is wanting to sell this for $35. Is it good for a cheap flash? I just want to make sure it's not going to short out my camera. I usually don't trust cheaper brands.

The Triopo TR-960 II runs at a mere 6 Volts as its operational voltage. Pentax can handle over double that (though they don't officially recommend higher voltages).
The flash you've mentioned shouldn't be a problem.

But, as always, when in doubt, check it out. You can test the voltage of the flash yourself by using an electricians digital multimeter. There are plenty of tutorials on youtube to peruse that will show you how, should you be so inclined.
