Metz 58 AF-2 firmware version 5.0 used as Controller on Pentax K-1

I recently purchased a Metz 58 AF-2 flash and planned on using it as a Master/Controller to trigger a Metz 50 AF-1 flash wirelessly. I have updated the firmware on both flashes but I cannot get the slave flash to fire. If I use a Pentax AF-360 FGZ as the controller the 50 AF-1 fires and the system yields correct exposures. The lens is the Pentax D-FA 24-70 F 2.8 and the camera is set to full frame mode.

Is there something I am doing wrong? I researched on the Metz site prior to purchasing the 58 AF-2 manual said it could be used in master/controller mode to control off camera flashes.

Anyone have any similar experience?

Are they using the same channel? Is the slave set to "SL" and able to optically "see" its master/controller?

Thanks for posting the links to the older threads, they explain why the price was so low for a like new flash.
