Ouch, that's a very risky generalisation.
Like most other brands, Sunpak only reduced their trigger voltages when cameras became more electronic. There are thousands of older Sunpaks on Ebay, Craiglist, etc with high trigger voltages, some approaching 300 volts (with no warning by the sellers of course). I recently bought a cheap old Sunpak SP140 with a 180v trigger specifically for the purpose of demonstrating the danger of old flash units on modern cameras

Sunpak's module system, used by flash units with "DX" in the name, was introduced in the later film film period and so those "DX" units have safe voltages as far as I know. It is all here though
