SLR flash on a DSLR cmaera

I have a K100D and want to mount a Pentax AF 240FT flash from a Pentax SF10 camera.
Is this possible without damaging my K100D.
I checked the voltage on the flash and it puts out 3.9 volts but I cannot find any info about voltage requirements on the K100D.

Thanks for any help you can give.

Yes, that flash will not destroy your camera. All Pentax branded flashes are safe.

Also, check Pentax-dedicated third-party flashes. I have a Vivitar 2600D that is dedicated to later-model Pentax film-SLRS, and works fine on my K10D. It puts out 5.6 volts.

can you define "use" a little better?

the AF240FT only supports TTL mode which means it will not give metered flash on any DSLR Except the *istD and DS which support both P-TTL and TTL

I do not know what manual control or auto settings it has, check your manual for those.
