Small flash for KP

Hi,
I'm thinking about gettins some smallish flash for my KP to have it in my pocket just in case as the pop up is not very strong.
I already have stronger flashes but I'd like to have a lighter option when I'm wandering around with just a camera and a Limited.
I'm considering 2 options:
Pentax AF201FG-has tilt, is small, WR, no wireless wchich is a bummer.
Metz 26 AF2-seems bigger, is a little stronger, no WR but way cheaper and can serve as a wireless slave.
Do you have any experience with them?

On the cheap end I just got a Flashpoint from Adorama.
Their Mini for Pentax., and a transmitter.

Still learning about it but it seems to work great. Not WR, and only works with the Godox/Flashpoint wireless.
Or maybe an optical slave?

I'm reading about Godox TT350, it might do the trick.
Optical slave is what I use the most so it's a real bummer that Pentax 201 can't be used neither as master or a slave.

The Flashpoint is Adorama's rebrand of the Godox.
I see you are in Poland and supply might be an issue.

Yes, the custroms and taxes would not make it worthwile I think, but Godox itself and Quadralite (wchich I think is also a Godox rebrand?) are easily accesible in EU.

I've only had (the Flashpoint version) for a couple of days and used with the radio.

My K3ii doesn't have a popup and I haven't tried it with another camera yet.

Seems well made and consistent.

I would go for the Metz Mecablitz 26 AF2. Which is a terrific and very solid little flash. German Quality with capital Q. The AF1 version is also very good and a bit cheaper (difference is in the video light I believe, but not certain). This Dutch webshop delivers to Poland as they do deliver all over Europe (EU) (Behind your scenes - De foto- en videospecialist). It is the cheapest option at the moment. Good luck!

I use both flash with the K1.
The Pentax AF201 is in reality a little stronger and works also with M-lenses or extension tubes (the Metz did not).
But the Metz is thinner and the LED-light is often useful for me, so I use the Metz more often.

I'm leaning heavily toward Godox TT350 right now.
Not the smallest or the cheapest but seems to have it all and a bit some more.
Being able to add some more flashes in the future and set them up wirelessly with TT350 as a controller just seems like a fine idea.

I have the Godox TT350P for my KP. It is really a good equipment. Not too heavy, TTL, powerful enough, and can be part of a Godox flash system.

It can also be a master for other Godox flash, acts as a slave from another, be both at the same time, do HSS, or even be triggered by the KP pop-up flash (no TTL in that case).

Buy it.

You sure about that? I read somewhere that it supports p-TTL as optical slave so it should work with KP pop-up this way.

I think you need a method to transmit TTL info to the Godox as a slave for that to work.
A Godox set as on camera Master, or a radio.

Maybe,
If the Godox slave was set to a low power the TTL function using the popup would still control the exposure.
If the Godox was set high then all bets are off. It's gonna fire.
Without a Master control it's a one pin flash.

Yes but KP pop-up acts as a p-TTL optical wireless controller so it transfers p-TTL data thru a preflash.
It works this way with both Metz 58 and Pentax AF540.

Not every pop-up can serve as a master/controller, KP and K3 can (KP only as controller), k70 cannot if I remember correctly, I'm not sure about Kr I think it can).
You set up slaves, controller sends a preflash, slaves repond with their metering flashes so camera can meter the exposure, and then cotroller sends actual triggering signal with exposure instructions for slaves. It's all done at the speed of light, obviously.;D
Works pretty well with extra care needed for portraits in dim light, it might be harder because preflash can make models start closing their eyes.

Edit: It actually seems that optical slave mode on Godox indeed does not support p-TTL, it's just a dummy. Well that's a bummer. :P
