Long time without posting. Just a photo and a light schema.

Hello.

I hope and wish that you are all well.
I haven't written anything around here for a long time.
I still have the same camera and gear as last year, but I plan to improve it.
I have taken some photos last weekend that I just wanted to share. I have also tried the 'set a light' application, and find it quite useful to see how to position your lights to create a scene, and to share the lighting diagram.
Well, here is my try, nothing special, super simple setup: you just need a daughter and some lights: .
I hope you like it.

Expectations:

Final result:

She is standing, leaning lightly on a small round table.
Main light: octabox. Secondary light, a white reflector on the right. The background (black) is illuminated by a simple orange light (AD200 + AD-s2 + gel).

Regards, Javier.

That works!

Unfortunately, no daughter. The wife refused after two boys.

Very well done! Beautiful picture, and a very sweet looking girl.

I have 3 sons as well, so no daughter. And the sons are at an age when they usually run from the camera as fast as they humanly can

Beautiful photo of a lovely, happy little girl

That's the first I've heard of the "set a light" app. Looks like a very useful and educational tool!

I had a look at their website. Most impressive, and works on Windows PC as well as Macs (even using the new M1 processor).

You can test the app during 14 days. It's not perfect, but helps a lot. You can 'learn' how to put a light: a little further forward, a little further back, turn the light so that it does not affect the background, etc. Saves time, I think it helps you learn lighting.

It's time to make a confession: I have six daughters . Teresa is the youngest. But things are even worse: I also have three sons. Only two don't run away from the camera. I must take advantage while they are still young.

BTW: I have only one wife

Regards.
