Is the Bower SFD926P flash any good?

I can't any info on this flash. I am looking for an inexpensive flash for my K100D Super and this fits the bill. I was looking into Pentax flashes but can't afford them. I would be using mostly to bounce of a ceiling or wall and would probably be no more than 20 feet from my subject.

Dollars-to-donuts that's the same as the Sakar / Digital Concepts 952AF/Pen. I'll do a little bit of research and see what more I can find.

I know a couple of people who have the Sakar flash or another clone, and are not displeased, but you'll have to keep your expectations pretty low, and count on not getting any support if you need it.

Thanks, I'll look into the 952AF too. My second choice is the Sigma EF530DG ST. Don't really want to spend $150 though.

For $40 more, you're going from a die roll with a low-quality generic make to a brand with a good reputation. I think it's probably worth it.

I wish the Metz 36 AF-4 were available in the US for Pentax, and at a price comparable to the € version. In Germany, it's only €75 — cheaper than the AF200FG.

EDIT (six months later): the Metz 36 AF-4 is now available at the big reputable online stores for $100. So again the European and US situation with Metz and Pentax flash prices is reversed, but it still looks like a pretty good deal to me.

I have the digital concepts/sakar version. It is not THAT bad, but IMO not worth $110, more like ~$80. It has a lot of features though.

I I were to purchase a flash from the beginning, as minimum I'd save for a used sigma 500 super.

I may end up with the 530ST. Right now it's $145 including shipping and the Bower is $119 with shipping. I just received a $25 Amazon gift card so now my decision is a little easier.
