AF 360 vs Sigma EF 530 DG ST and Super

I know Mattdm has a nice "tutorial" on the PTTL flashes available, but I was curious as I am looking to buy a flash which would be the best feature set for the money. I have a K200d and the built in flash is just not enough, as we all know. I would like to be able to use rear-curtain flash and some other "artistic" features, rather than just beef up my indoor/low light shots.

Does the Sigma EF 530 DG ST or Super offer the same or more features than that of the AF 360, and are there any issues with wireless usage etc.?

If buying the Sigma be sure to get the super as the "non-super" doesn't have P-TTL metering.

The AF360 flash doesn't tilt the head sideways.

Apart from that the only major difference is flash power.

The ST is a P-TTL flash. It does not have wireless or high speed flash. It also does not have much options for manual flash.

The super is like the 360 but has more flash power and a swivel head.

Thanks that was my impression, just curious as to what people were using and if they thought one was better than the other.

The Sigma 530 is a competition of Pentax AF540 (not AF360). I use a Sigma 540 DG Super.

The head of Sigma 530 DG could be flip left-rigth and up (swivel-head). When you take portrait you will like to be able to flip the head on the other direction (when you take vertical picture). Also the power of the Sigma 540 is better of Pentax 360 (guide number 53 Vs 36). That for those reasons I choose the Sigma flash (and it was chipper of the Pentax AF540).

I use my flash on wireless mode with my k200d and I never have any problems yet. I couldn't give my comments regarding sync because I didn't use it. I love his manuel mode (to use with my manuel focus lens).

I hope that will help you
