The Sigma 530 is a competition of Pentax AF540 (not AF360). I use a Sigma 540 DG Super.
The head of Sigma 530 DG could be flip left-rigth and up (swivel-head). When you take portrait you will like to be able to flip the head on the other direction (when you take vertical picture). Also the power of the Sigma 540 is better of Pentax 360 (guide number 53 Vs 36). That for those reasons I choose the Sigma flash (and it was chipper of the Pentax AF540).
I use my flash on wireless mode with my k200d and I never have any problems yet. I couldn't give my comments regarding sync because I didn't use it. I love his manuel mode (to use with my manuel focus lens).
I hope that will help you
