Vivitar 383 Flash?

Hey everyone, i was interested in anyones opinion on VIvitar flashes now. i use to own a Vivitar AF880 (rebranded Sigma 500) and it worked wonderfully, but i sold it =(

Now i see that vivitar has these new ones: DF 283 and DF 383.

Has anyone heard anything about them? i know they're no longer rebranded sigmas, so i was wondering if anyone knows who makes them now.

And before anyone mentions it, yes im too poor to buy the Pentax 540.

From the descriptions, the DF-383 doesn't have auto mode. I wouldn't buy it. In fact, I wouldn't buy any flash that does not have its own light sensor.
