You can take a fresnel lens, like from a book shop, and make one.
Cut the fresnel to about 4X6 and make your own sides. You just have to test for best range.

Yes a Fresnel lens can be cut, just like any other lens. A Fresnel lens is basically (I'm simplifying) a regular lens with the middle parts removed, so that only the curvature of the outer surface remains.

Amazon has quite a few of these as well. I think I'm going to try to make one too.

Just make sure you cut around the edges and not down the middle as you would with a sheet of paper

Sweeet!
I think you can get this fresnel magnifying lenses at your local walmart too as long as they have the optical shop.
I have seen the page magnifiers there and they most certainly are these fresnel lenses.
I have to check out the price though as I just ignore them since I didn't have a use for them before..but I do now!

Exactly, you have to keep the central part!
