Metz 58 AF-1 (Pentax) firmware upgrade

I have just heard back from Metz who have confirmed that a firmware upgrade version 1.1 is due for release this month. I don't have any details as to what will be included just that there will be improvements. Hope this helps any other Metz users. We finally get to put the usb socket to work.

My Metz that I bought new a couple of months ago never came with a USB cord, you have to buy it seperately correct?

Thanks for the mention - I hadn't noticed the upgrade for my 48.

The USB cable is just a standard one, use any normal one that has the miniconnector at one end.

Hopefully, the Metz 48 could do wireless manual mode after the firmware upgrade....

It's not on the list, so I kind of doubt it.

The second improvement makes it promising.
With the old firmware, Metz 48 can only do 100% output in wireless manual mode.
The mechanism should be the same. The diff is only in how the flash is triggered, either by the "test" button or by the trigger flash.

Edit: My Metz 48 AF-1 is not around. Otherwise, I would give it a try.

Mac users??

I guess there must be no Metz 48 owners who use a Mac since I the firmware update is only an .exe file for Windows.
