Having just been given a Metz 45 CT1 unit, am concerned with compatibility issues, suitable cable and connectors etc, etc.
Also, I came across a Wein unit (Wein SSHSHS Safe-Sync Hot Shoe to Hot Shoe: )
Is this also an option to be looked at
I had started a topic related to the later CT4 but also need advice as to the newly acquired unit

I have tried a 45 CT-1 (with safe serial number) on a K10D and it works with the simplest of simplest hotshoe to PC adaptors. Disadvantage is that the build-in flash can not pop up and therefore there is no focus assist (if I remember correctly).

It will work with a PC-hot shoe adapter.
Use a safe sync type to be on the safe side. I don't know what the trigger voltage is on the 45.
I used a Metz 60-CT-2 with the K10 via a Wein SS adapter. With the K20 & K7, I plug straight into the PC socket.
