Metz 48 wireless

Does anyone know if there are any cheap wireless alternatives to pair with this flash other than the Sigma DG Super? I am trying to put together a 2 or 3 flash system and I thought a flash gun system would be best for portability.

The Sigma or Pentax 360FGZ are the cheapest for wireless P-TTL master or controller. The Metz 58 AF-1 and Pentax 540FGZ are the only other options. The Metz 58 AF-1 can't do wireless HSS, so your choices are even more limited if this is important for you.

Thank you

Do you know if the 360 does HSS and can be used as a master to control both metz 48 and sigma

Yes to both, but if you are going to buy one Sigma Super, why not buy two? The 360 always seems to be a lot more expensive.

I suppose you know that the flip up flash can also be used as an optical wireless master to control 2 or more remote flashes. Or you could get radio controlled transmitters and receivers to control remote flashes.

But using the pop up can you do the same as if you used the 540 or metz 58 as master. Is there anything I would be missing out on?

High Speed Sync and range for wireless. Depending on the lens, range could be severely affected. When shifting to portrait; the right side flash can be problematic unless using an external flash and bracket.

Thank you
