P52-2-48 Subjec: Tool
Posted By: Rense, 06-02-2010, 10:52 PM

Because Rob - Mithrandir - is still not able to post the new P52 for NEXT WEEK, I will step in again..... (I think this is the last week, but I'm not completely sure...)

For week 47 we again concentrate on subjects, and I think anyone could submit a photo, because we all use it: Tools. Pick your tool or tools, and submit a photo of it. It's quite a broad subject, I'd say, and there are various possible interpretations of this theme, so you don't have a reason to post nothing!!

(Pictures for the week 47 competition are to be taken and posted between 20100606 and 20100613, so from June 6 - June 13).

NOTE: We have two Seasonal competitions planned for the last two weeks of year two. You may take pictures for these anytime between 20090705 and the posting dates of 20100704 or 20100711. This way you can include your favorite holiday or season whenever it occurs during the year.

Rules:
1. Anyone and everyone who is interested in eligible. The goal continues to be
have fun and share comments, concepts, insights, and techniques with fellow
Pentaxians.
2. Each week will feature a Theme and Sub-concept for you to explore.
3. Post your single picture in Project 52-2 thread for the week. Explain what
motivated you to take the picture and/or how you feel it represents the weekly
theme.
4. Some post-processing is OK (adjusting white balance, exposure, color
saturation), but let's try to stay away from heavily PP'ed images here. Try to
keep the creativity to photographic techniques and the captures themselves.
5. Since this project is about technique, and not camera, shots taken by nonPentax cameras are allowed. Cameras can be SLRs, DSLRs, Point & Shoot and Medium Format.
6. There is one “Theme Concept” labeled “black and white,” but feel free to post
black and white, sepia, monotone, etc., for any of the other themes.
7. The picture you post should be taken during the week in which the theme is active to be eligible for judging.
8. Any picture taken from 20090705 to listed closing date is acceptable for the two “Seasonal” competitions – Projects 52-2-51 & 52.

Rense, love the subject matter: TOOL.
I don't think we need a definition this week.
I'll think appropriately for this coming week as my time will be limited making the most tiime to watch the FIFA World Cup, but we'll see. Regards, Jools.

You beat me too it! But here's mine. This mouse is in my hand for 8-10 hrs a day...it is truly a tool of my trade!

PS: This was a very difficult shot. Try holding camera left handed to take this shot!

Yeah, but I have BOTH my hands in the shot, so needed to hold my camera with my foot!

You must have long toes to fire the shutter....

OK, so this isn't my tool. I was doing a shoot for a friend who is a potter. This shot made it onto the program cover for a large pottery/crafts show.

Edit:
---> Image withdrawn due to blatant failure to comply with the rules (does that make me the tool?)

My apologies to all.

Here's a link to the image if anyone is interested.

Cheers,

Adam

Great picture!
But reading your text makes me wonder if you realize that the pictures in this contest must be taken between June 6 - June 13!

Tools of my trade: Taken this morning about 10 minutes ago. For those who have never seen one, it's a computer motherboard.
