Challenge #140: No faces

Challenge #140: No faces

The idea here is to take a photograph that includes a person or people where there are no faces shown. The amount of stress you put on the person in the frame is up to you. It could vary from a single body part to a huge landscape with a tiny person in it.

The use of anonymous people can often enhance a photograph... the viewer might be better able to identify with the anonymous figure in the photo. Likewise the story in a photograph might often be enhanced by this anonymity as the viewer is not forced to key on, as humans often are, the face of the person in the photo - rather the viewer is free to construct/reconstruct the story held in the image.

While this may not appeal to the landscape photographers among us, please consider joining in. A nice landscape with an anonymous figure remains a perfectly viable landscape and the human interest may pleasantly surprise you in terms of the impact that it can have.

Above all, have fun! Kind regards...

Challenge Starts: NOW

Challenge Ends: Tuesday, July 13th @ 7 PM server time.

The fine print....
1. Post ONE photo (max 1024x1024).
2. The photo must portray an interpretation of the theme.
3. Post your single picture in this thread, and explain what motivated you to take the picture and/or how you feel it represents the weekly theme (especially if it's not obvious).
4. The challenge is interactive. Any response is welcome.
5. The judge will pick the WINNERS and choose 1 of them to be the judge for the next week.
6. This challenge runs for 7 days plus a day for the judge to choose the winners.
7. Any Pentax camera will do or a Samsung DSLR.
8. Pictures can be from any time frame, not just within the week of the current theme.

I'll start. This is one taken at the World Trade Center ground zero reconstruction. Kind of retrospective/perspective meaning.

Already posted this on the "capture a stranger streetstyle"- thread but it fits here nicely.

Really great theme, Seaain. I don't know this girl, but I was drawn to her poise and ease on her bike. She obviously loved being on two wheels.

Most of my people pics are faceless. Primarily because I prefer to take candid photos rather than the cheezy say cheese pose and the head typically turns before I snap the shutter. However, This one, I did on purpose. It was taken last fall at my Niece's 4th birthday party. This young lady was on the phone the entire time I was there, having an argument with her boyfriend. About what, I have no idea nor do I have any idea who she is.

For anyone who cares, K7, DA*55 (my first outing with that lens).

You don't need to see their faces to know what's happening....

Wish it were last year though. Too many games lost so far.
