P52-3-15 Colour: Red
Posted By: Rense, 11-05-2010, 01:51 AM

Okay, keep your breath for a long, long series of P52-weeks around the theme
colour (or for our American friends: color). Six weeks long, we want to ex-
plore what colour does in our photos, and this week we'll shoot Red.

I don't think I have to explain the colour, or what you can do with it, do I? So,
let's go out shooting!!!

Just some backgrounds and some ideas:
Well....this isn't necessary, is it?

Time Frame: pictures for week 15 are to be taken and posted between
20101106 and 20101114, so from November 6th - November 14th, 2010.

Rules:
1. Anyone and everyone who is interested in eligible. The goal continues to be
have fun and share comments, concepts, insights, and techniques with fellow
Pentaxians.
2. Each week will feature a Theme and Sub-concept for you to explore.
3. Post your single picture in Project 52-3 thread for the week. Explain what
motivated you to take the picture and/or how you feel it represents the weekly
theme.
4. Some post-processing is OK (adjusting white balance, exposure, color
saturation), but let's try to stay away from heavily PP'ed images here. Try to
keep the creativity to photographic techniques and the captures themselves.
5. Since this project is about technique, and not camera, shots taken by nonPentax
cameras are allowed
. Cameras can be SLRs, DSLRs, Point & Shoot and Medium Format.
6. There is one “Theme Concept” labeled “black and white,” but feel free to post
black and white, sepia, monotone, etc.
, for any of the other themes.
7. The picture you post should be taken during the week in which the theme is
active
to be eligible for judging.
8. Any picture taken from 20100731 to listed closing date is acceptable for the two
“Seasonal” competitions – Projects 52-3-51 & 52.

Additional Information, including the scheme with subjects: https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/mini-challenges-games-photo-stories/10506...-year-3-a.html

Have fun shooting!

OK, I'll jump in early on this one. Shot these dripping crab apples today after a hike in the rain:

I think this project needs a bit more attention, red is a beautiful color.

Looks to me like a perfect place for a binocular lens macro shot from yours truly.

Ladybug...can't get much more red than that...

Probably shot at either f8 or f11, I was using both all day, rarely went larger than f8. SMC Pentax A 50mm 1.4 lens, binocular lens attached. No editing, crop and resize only, cropped at 1600x1200, sized to 1024x768 for web viewing.

Pete, spend more time in this thread doing these challenges each week and before you know, those ideas will start occurring to you. I guarantee it!

I know, I haven't been as active in P52 as I ought.
My repaired k20d is due back...whoooHoo. And to add to the glee my K5 is due to arrive any day. I may be able to wield of bit of action in the comps now.........."MAY" being the operative word
An entry from me then (on the oldK10d)

I am giving the K10d to my daughter, maybe she will get involved.

There will always be a place in my heart for my K-10, which is now owned by my dad. I kept it in the family. I think it's great you're doing the same.

I have to agree with the others about being active in the different challenges...they really get you thinking about things, and SEEING things differently. This originally started as an angled front view of the entire car, but after I parked it in the garage and was about to go walking around the yard for some other shots...there it was. And the closer I got, the more I liked it.
