Weekly Challenge #31 - Pets
Posted By: Eddie, 09-23-2007, 06:30 PM

Ok folks, thanks for all the comments on my contrast image, I guess it's my turn to pick...

The theme for week 30 is: Pets

Dogs, cats, snakes, ferrets, horses, whatever you consider a pet in your family!

The rules:
1. Post ONE photo (max 800x800) as a response to THIS post.
2. The photo must portray an interpretation of the theme. It can be colour or B&W, your choice.
3. You can offer as much or as little additional information as you wish, but I'd be interested to know the location/event/whatever being depicted.
4. The challenge is interactive. Any response is welcome.
5. The judge will pick the WINNERS and chose 1 of them to be the judge for the next week.
6. The challenge runs for 6 days plus a day for the judge to choose the winners.
7. Any camera will do but it must be a Pentax. (added by Jonas for Challenge #23: Just use any camera you want. I'm not discriminating anyone as long as the is an active member here)

The competition is open from midnight (Monday) September 24th until midnight Saturday September 29th. I will judge on Sunday the 30th and post results during that day.

Shot New Year's Day in 2006. Set up a black sheet next to our bay window to grap a couple of natural light portraits of my kids. At the end of the session, our corporate mascot decided she wanted to enjoy the sunshine coming through the windows and asked us to move. Had my son hold a dog treat to get her to pose.

DS, DA18-55, 1/60 sec, f8, iso400

PS: I think this challenge will break the record for the number of entries and will also be one of the toughest to judge.

Heh well finally a chance for pet picture lovers to shine If the rest as as good as Tims then yeah this will get tough, the bar has been put pretty high already from the first entry. I see bribery does wonders with canine models

I was going to enter this one but my model considered it less than flattering.

I do not actually have any pets, however I was rather fond of this Cricket. But as you can see, it ended up as lunch..... Farewell faithful friend!

I'm actually on vacation in London England and regret I don't have access to my photos other than a few I have put on flickr ... I have so many photos of Schmikey... Anywhere here it is... hope to have many great shots from London! (I actually saw another Pentax owner yesterday - a real thrill!)

A slide show the whole family can enjoy...

I just got my K10D last Wednesday. This came from one of my Canon SLRs a few years back, so maybe it's not eligible. This is from a negative scan (Nikon Coolscan V ED) of B&W film, Ilford HP5+, I think.
