Hey Dave, thanks, and you still have a few hours to post in this week's POTW!
Thanks Karen, the chickadee was fluffed against 20-degree (F) cold. Wait till you see them with the temperature drops to zero and below.
Pete, I was lucky with the chickadee. The small troupe who live here know me and let me perch near their feeder so I could try and get pix of them. Dim light, though, and the K200D doesn't render as sharply in low light as the later camera models. Chickadees are so quick, I have to shoot manually and often pre-focus on their favorite branches. That Carolina chickadee of yours was probably hunting bugs or seeds. They also line nests with the cattail fluff.
Mark, interesting juxtaposition with the young "breakdancer" and the elderly woman with a walker in the background.
Iris, you've gotten very good with street scenes, and are braver than I am! I have to go in search of some concentrations of people to get practice. Mark and Javier are masters at this game!
Robin, great portraits! Love the B&W treatment here.
John (Fotaki), thanks much.
, those are my footprints leading down the bridge, but I came round another way to get them unsullied by return steps. I was aiming for getting the texture of the snow, so the rest of the pic is dark. As for the tits, I saw a very amusing photo of a blue tit poking his head out of a horizontal metal pipe as the snow fell. It was a shot in The Independent. Unfortunately, the photo was sent to me by a correspondent without the corresponding link.
Xjjohnno, I love those market shots. The lens(es) you use produce such good bokeh and color.
James (Jimbow007), that is one bright and detailed photo. Lovely! The converter works very well, I'd say.
Ah, so you DID get out to shoot, Dave! Looking forward to seeing the same scenes all lit up!
Joe, such beautiful serene scenics from your part of the world. The more I see the more I like Alberta.
Three more from me, which I took with the P52: Ton-sur-Ton contest in mind...
