Welcome to the 144th edition of the Pentax Forum's Picture of the Week!

Thanks to Bbluesman for hosting last week and for asking me this week.

This edition covers photos taken between December 12-26, December 2010, or shots from last week you haven't processed until now.

Most important note to everyone: Remember, you can post your shots from this week AND last week!

POTW is a great place to show what you're shooting day-to-day with your cameras. It gives us all a chance to see what other members are up to with their Pentax cameras in their parts of the world in which they live or have visited. We can share ideas and hopefully learn from one another which is great too!

So show us what you've seen in your little corner of the planet! Looking forward to seeing all of what's out there this week.

1) No theme, just post your favorite pix.

2) Lets keep it to fewer than 6 images per post just so the thread doesn't get too big each week.

3) Any Pentax camera or Samsung SLR is fine, whether it's film, P&S, or DSLR.

4) Date: Sunday December 12-26 December, 2010. Enter anything you shot last week or during this current week until the thread closes.

5) The current host will appoint the new host as an invitation via Private Message (PM). If possible, the new thread will be linked to the previous one and the new thread will start between Noon EDT and 5PM EDT on Sunday. If the thread doesn't start, please contact Peter Zack, Moderator via PM.

"Downtown" in my city.. You'll have to use your imagination on this one. Every year just after Labor day (that's the first Monday in September), the city spends money putting lights in the trees that line the road. Typically up to Christmas, they are turned off. After New Years however, they'll be lit up until March.

Mark.....I like the great look of 'vague concentration' on the rider's face.

Lisa.....lovely humorous shot. Christmas time the use of shades of red allways evoke a feeling of seasonal warmth and good cheer.

James.....stunning light shots. I assume these were 'zoomed' in-camera, not PP. Especially like the 'Stargate' effect of #1.

Scott....lovely shots of a very pretty and happy little girl. I love #1, a real cracker.

Pete.....nice water and graceful Heron pics.

Jeff.....like the night illuminations and looking forward to seeing all those trees lit up New Year.

I stopped by one of my favourite places yesterday afternoon. Despite clear skies overhead for a change it was hazy in the distance and bitterly cold. Still the pathways were busy with walkers and joggers and the setting sun added a nice touch of colour.

Today's Lens of the day for the 12 days game was the SMC K30/f2.8. Once again, I set outside for the photos. That isn't really the reason I went out but the camera was with me so..

First stop: Post office to mail the K135 f3.5 someone bought from me over the weekend.

This is the line that formed behind me. I hope none of these people are expecting their packages to arrive before Christmas.



The Parking lot outside.. Typically on any given day at any given time, there are 4 or 5 cars here. That's why I go to this branch. The SOB you see on the right of the photo cut in front of me in line. I WANTED, to separate his skull from his neck, but thought better of it. Some things are better left a fantasy



Then for some unknown reason, I decided to see what was going on at the local shopping center. OMG! Haven't these people heard of OnLine shopping?







I will say that for the most part, the people driving around here were reasonably polite about it, each probably realizing that they (as well as I) put themselves in this situation. Of course, there's always the impatient ass hole circling the parking lot for an hour driving 10 miles hoping for a space by the doors. Seriously, there were at least a half dozen of them.
