WINNERS: P52-3-20 Colour: without colour
Posted By: Iris, 12-21-2010, 02:48 PM

Nice interpretations of this weeks project 52-3-20 Colour: without-colour.
Thank you all for participating (again).
It is nice to see so many regular participants. And welcome to all the not so regular participants, I hope to see you more often!
So, here are the results. I will comment on every entry very short (I donít feel well) and in the end I will declare the winners.

Mark (bbluesman):
Nice capture again Mark!
It fits the theme perfectly. Nice to see real whites and blacks in your picture.

Chasintrail:
Yes, I think this fits the theme!
Lovely shot, with a nice framing and details.

Tim.anderson:
I like the dof of this picture. Nice subject.
Perhaps I would have liked it a bit lighter.

Tom (ramseybuckeye):
Brilliant shot Tom! I love everything in your shot;
love the subject, love the fog, love the panoramic view. Well done!

Rense:
What to say about this one,
very original approach, minimalistic, with high contrasts. Very inspiring Rense!

Lisa (casil403):
Beautiful Lisa! I love the forms and the light in this one. Very nice capture!

ChatMechant:
Is it snow on the branches? I like this one.
Perhaps this picture could do with a bit more contrast.

John (jheu02):
Nice picture! Love the colour your conversion has.
Great shot!

Jack (jax_zee):
It is a very nice abstract picture.
I like it very much!

Tamia:
Great water shot again Tamia!
Love the ice patterns.

SpecialK:
Nice subject!
I like the sidelight in your picture.

Karen (KarenH):
Che bella, Karen!
I love the streetlights in your picture!

Willem (wllm):
Beautiful picture Willem! I am the judge, so I think it fits the theme perfectly
I love the light in this picture.

Joe (jmschrei):
I like the different layers in your picture, lots of things to see in here.
Perhaps I would have preferred less snow in the foreground.

Mike (MikeS):
I find this black background very nice, somehow the texture intrigues me.
Very nice B&W portret.

Vaughn (VaughnA):
Brilliant shot Vaughn! Love your framing and the dramatic sky.
Very, very nice capture!

Dan (DanLoc78):
Lots of blacks and lots of whites in your picture.
I think the very high contrast works well in here!
Lovely daughter

Gordon (dunerunner):
Lovely shot! Like your subject very much, because it gives me the feeling I am at the coast again (many happy memories).
I like that you have chosen to put different ecosystems in your picture.

Tsukiouji:
Very nice you posted a film shot!
Love the way the light isolates the girl from her surrounding. Well done!

Judging this week was very, very though for me!
Lots of great entries, so congrats to all the participants!

Honorable Mentions:
Lisa (casil403):

Rense:

3rd Place Vaughn (VaughnA):

2nd Place Willem (wllm):

Great job with the judging Iris. Congratulations Tom, a great shot as were all of the entries. As I said before I'm glad I didn't have to judge that one.

Congrats to all who participated in this event; so much talent showing black and white as a true art form. And of course to the winners, who are all well deserved placements. Thanks to Iris for the judging, which had to be a challenge in itself! Once again this competition shows b\w is an art form in its own right...btw I thought Willem as my fav

Excellent job judging and commenting, Iris -- I hope you feel better very soon. Congratulations Tom for a superb entry. And 'grats to Willem, Vaughn, Rense, and Lisa, too. Rense, I love the minimalist image of the goose. It's almost like a visual trick. Imaginative.

Wow thank you. I feel humbled to be honored with these great artists. I just returned home from spending the night and all day at the hospital with a kidney stone problem, so I just saw this a few minutes ago. Thank you all and congratulations to the other winners and participants, there were quite a few good works here.
