POTW 150 23 January - 6 February
Posted By: Nomad, 01-29-2011, 04:51 PM

Thanks for asking me to host Tamia, you always do such a great job that I have high standards to meet this week.

POTW #150 January 23 - February 6

Welcome to the 150th edition of the Pentax Forum's Picture of the Week!

This edition covers photos taken between January 23rd and February 6th, 2011. That lets you show off any shots you took last week but haven't processed until now. In other words, you can post your shots from this week AND last week! Not a bad deal, eh?

A special welcome to all new members: Join us old hands and post your shots from this week and last week!

POTW is a great place to show what you've been shooting day-to-day. It gives us all a chance to see what other members are up to with their Pentax (and Samsung) cameras in the parts of the world in which they live or have visited. We can share ideas, learn from one another, and have a good time.

So show us what you've seen in your little corner of the planet! Looking forward to seeing all of what's out there this week.

Again same rules as always:

1) No theme, just post your favorite pix.

2) Lets keep it to fewer than 6 images per post just so the thread doesn't get too big each week.

3) Any Pentax camera or Samsung SLR is fine, whether it's film, P&S, or DSLR.

4) Date: Sunday January 23rd to Sunday February 6th 2011. Enter anything you shot last week or during this current week until the thread closes.

5) The current host will appoint the new host as an invitation via Private Message (PM). If possible, the new thread will be linked to the previous one and the new thread will start between Noon EDT and 5PM EDT on Sunday. If the thread doesn't start, please contact Peter Zack, Moderator via PM.

Previous hosts: Each one is a hotlink to that POTW thread to look back at the previous POTW's.

That's because it was dying. Dying things are special.

Seriously... thanks! Vivitar Series 1 105m macro with flash bounced from ceiling.

Bruce, that's some serious heat you have. Is the humidity high there also? That's what keeps me indoors, heat I can handle but if humidity is high, I can't breathe.

My little contribution for today. I took this Monday when it was warm enough for me to get outside.

These are from a gig last week. I love the challenge of shooting dance and other art events.

Some Snaps from the Porch

From the sidewalk

These have all received different processing. I like each for different reasons but I think there is something here for every one. If not, sorry, I guess I can't please everybody

Really cool Jeff (no pun intended). I especially like the treatment on the first image, there is almost a startling quality to it.

Tess: Great shots of a winter wonderland. You sure seem to me making the most of the winter. Nice sunrise and sunset shots.

Robin: I really like the B&W treatment on the rose. I also really like your portrayal of the human form in your shoot with the dance.

Photolady: Nice spot of color.

Eddie: I like your keen sense for the obvious with the no lifeguard image I really like the image of the icebound large ships as well!

Jeff: I agree with Joe about your first image of the pine trees. They really pop!

Lovely snow shots folks. But I have to say, better you than me up there in that stuff. I spent five years in Northeast MN and have to say it's lovely to look at but once you're out in it, it's not lovely enough anymore to make me want to go back.

I went to see my partner in crime today, er, my niece who's only two years younger than me. Her husband and I get along great too. He sells seashells. LOL Anyway, I took my closeups and my flash extender and shot a few photos of his seashells. Here are three I found quite interesting.

So "Closer than you think" isn't as close as I thought?

Your photos Are interesting, particularly, the middle one.

Thanks Jeff, for the compliment. I am planning another trip down after I rebuilt my extension tube.
No, "closer than you think" is an internet thing. I can see you here, and most anyone else on the site without leaving my living room in FL.
