Weekly challenge #161 "Weathered"

From patinas formed on copper roofs, to wind and water damaged wood, I want to see what the weather and years of exposure to it does to manmade things. So, not looking for canyons or other erosion, and I'm not really looking for natural disaster-type shots (where the weather wreaks havoc over a fairly short time period), we see enough of that on the news. Let's see your old barns, rusty fences, sun-beaten and faded painted things, acid-rain scarred statues... It seems of late, we haven't been adding any stories to the shots, so let's get a little info too if able.

Challenge ends on Monday March 21st at Midnight EST.

The fine print....
1. Post ONE photo (max 1024x1024).
2. The photo must portray an interpretation of the theme.
3. Post your single picture in this thread, and explain what motivated you to take the picture and/or how you feel it represents the weekly theme (especially if it's not obvious).
4. The challenge is interactive. Any response is welcome.
5. The judge will pick the WINNERS and choose 1 of them to be the judge for the next week.
6. This challenge runs for 7 days plus a day for the judge to choose the winners.
7. Any Pentax camera will do or a Samsung DSLR.
8. Pictures can be from any time frame, not just within the week of the current theme.

I'll play, John. A good choice of topic. This abandoned old farmhouse had finally succumbed to the elements by the time I discovered it. I call it...

Another great topic John, I'm sure there will be many fine photos.
Here's mine, corrosion on the right knee/lower leg of the sculpture "The Rocket Thrower" at Flushing Meadows park in Queens. Same park as has the Unisphere. The second photo is NOT an entry but gives good context to the entry.
K10D with the Sigma 17-70mm 1/125 sec at f/9.0

not an entry just to give context to the above

I like the mass of hot rock, carved out over time.

Kyle,

Just so you understand the challenge properly, the weathered object has to be man-made in some form or fashion. Erosion of features of the Earth itself isn't one of topics this time, though definitely cool. Just wanted you to have an opportunity to change your pic.

Ethyl and her favorite green dress

Went shooting at one of our state parks last December and spotted this on the drive home. It might be a bit too colorful for this challenge but thought it fit your theme.

Too late for a dental visit. From a local park. There is also a Lion, buffalo, crocodile and baboon heads. Been around for a long time.

Ah, I missed the manmade part, sorry. This service station on Route 66 was torn down a couple years ago.
