OK - since it seems nobody else wants to start, I'll go ahead and post my submission of "Speed".

Speed

Okay longing for days of summer and Red Sox Baseball. Sorry everyone outside the USA. One I took back in 2005 at Fenway Park. He was safe on this play but they got him a few pitches later.

Gotta get this going. It's is a grainy shot, but it was handheld, 1/125sec, 300mm, f6.3 and 1600 ISO and no flash. 6:15pm in the evening as the sun was already down. By all counts, not a picture perfect picture, but I was able to capture a shot I could not have with my previous camera.

Speed = High ISO,
Speed = My son's final kick to the finish
SPeed = My ability to capture his expression
Speed = Priceless!

Great effect

Here's what I would have submitted if I were competing: Motec Photo Gallery (couldn't resist, either )

This my friends is speed.

The ground drums to a primitive muffled
almost hollow sound
-
Squeeze the ribs, kiss the lips
the legs gather centered strength
-
You flex to the muscular undulations
becoming the movement
-
Drinking the wind, steel tipped hooves
spin the world beneath
-
Breath blasting from nostrils
when a jackrabbit explodes into flight
-
Tears stream toward your ears
nothing but the shear joy of movement
-
To ride on such wings, to leap into the sky.

Flaco I am a big Sox fan and could send you a link to some of my shots from over the past year or two. There is nothing like seeing a game at Fenway. Even if you hate the Sox it is just awesome.

Forgive the quality here. In my SPEED to post this, I now see that it is extremely noisy, but given the conditions that I shot it in (almost dark), I will get some forgiveness, but I doubt an award. :-)
