Pic of the Week 4th thru 17th April
Posted By: christophleipzig, 04-10-2011, 06:57 AM

Welcome to the 160th edition of the Pentax Forum's Picture of the Week. Thanks to Tom for hosting last week!

This edition covers photos taken between 4th and 10th of April 2011. That lets you show off any shots you took last week but haven't processed until now. In other words, you can post your shots from this week AND last week.

POTW is a great place to show what you've been shooting day-to-day. It gives us all a chance to see what other members are up to with their Pentax (and Samsung) cameras in the parts of the world in which they live or have visited. We can share ideas, learn from one another, and have a good time.

So show us what you've seen in your little corner of the planet! Looking forward to seeing all of what's out there this week. A special welcome to all new members!

Again same rules as always:

1) No theme, just post your favorite pix.

2) Lets keep it to fewer than 6 images per post just so the thread doesn't get too big each week.

3) Any Pentax camera or Samsung SLR is fine, whether it's film, P&S, or DSLR.

4) Enter anything you shot last week or during this current week until the thread closes.

5) The current host will appoint the new host as an invitation via Private Message (PM). If possible, the new thread will be linked to the previous one and the new thread will start between Noon EDT and 5PM EDT on Sunday. If the thread doesn't start, please contact Peter Zack, Moderator via PM.

Previous hosts: Each one is a hotlink to that POTW thread to look back at the previous POTW's.

Thanks for hosting Chris.

I haven't posted anything for awhile now. As a matter of fact I haven't even taken the camera out in the past couple of months. I'm not even sure why.

Here are a few I took yesterday at a Armwrestling Event in Edmonton. The ref is a friend of mine.

Thank you for hosting Christoph! And good to see you back Jimbow. Great shots from the arm wrestling event. Maybe if spring ever returns to Alberta you will feel more like getting the camera out!

I went out to Elbow Falls yesterday a very popular recreational area in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. Normally it's too busy for my tastes but It is still quite snowed in. The lighting was less than ideal but I was able to give all of my primes a comparative workout. Here are samples from 3:
DA 15 Ltd

FA 50/1.4

Two from the DA 21 Ltd (these are "street shots" for me - that is shots of strangers)

Thanks for hosting, Christoph.

James, good to see you again, I really enjoyed your SIN so I'm hoping you will be joining another Single again this year. Great armwrestling shots.
Joe, I'm getting cold by looking at that snow, I hope for you Spring will be coming to you real quick.
Mar, nice smile
Jeff, it's so nice to see the hound and I especially like the first one, but I already told you that on Flickr.

My contribution for today.
Not the Single in April lens, but the beloved Helios.
I have been trying for 2 days this shot with that lens and today I was pleased with it. Love the dog (Pr1mo) and love the bokeh.

Thanks for hosting, Christoph. Wonderful to see so many photos from different parts of the world. We're only now losing most of the snow here in the northern Adirondack Mountains of NY, and I had a chance to get out and shoot at a small pond which had some skim ice and open water. But first, a wonderful sight when winter's been hanging around for about half the year...

Hi PFH, thanks for sharing this one. Can you say where exactly this is? I really liked the cost south of Göteborg and still know some places there.

Same here... this white shroud finally is melting... and people finally look like humans again, without all this clothes...

I like a lot the reed variations and the ice pictures.

Historic house.

Historic house-now-library.

Mausoleum roof.

"Portal of the Folded Wings" has the graves of semi-famous early aviation-related people, such as the Wright brothers' mechanic.

Thanks a lot Christoph, I'm glad you like it. This is Fiskebäck just southwest of Gothenburg city.
