Winner Weekly Challenge 174 - Cornucopia
Posted By: Rense, 08-04-2011, 01:39 PM

I realy enjoyed the entries of this weekly challenge ! There were no bad photos
and many, many very good ones. I hope you don't mind me picking just one
favourite as winner. I would like to give some more attention to all your photos by
commenting on them all, but it would take at least two more days, because I don't
have time now, nor tomorrow....

My a priori winner had to be one where the subject filles the whole frame.
That's what I love.... at least.... I thought..... And I do! But the winner is not such a
whole-frame-filler.... It's one with a great couleur locale. For me the 'Profusion
of Rugs' by Sealonsf is the favourite!

Congrats!!!

Thanks, Rense! I've been a runner-up a couple of times but never a winner so this is a nice surprise. Let me bask in the glow for a minute (meaning, I'm at work) and then I'll figure out what I need to do now as a judge. Thanks again. I'm honored.

Sure, pick a winner that is colorful and well composed. And totally worthy. Congratulations Lynda.

Congratulations Lynda. Definitely a most worthy winner. Your reward for winning is to come up with a new theme, create and judge the next challenge. That is whole challenge in itself given all the topics that have been covered to date!

Thanks, and yes, it's true that now I have a challenge in front of me. I just posted the new theme - "Steps". I was tempted to do "Orange" but "Steps" it is.

Great choice for the winning shot. I'm glad I didn't have to judge this one.

Congratulations Lynda, great image. Worthy winner. That open door suggests more cornucopia inside! And a great theme for the next challenge.

Congratulations and well done Lynda. The fact that I am being drawn back to it time and again is a sure sign of a winning combination.

Rick.

Thanks so much for the kind words! This photo was taken in Turkey in the Cappadocia region. We had a running joke about how we could manage to get out of Turkey without buying a carpet. We managed - but it's not easy! I know that had I entered that door, I no doubt would have a carpet in my living room right now.

Hope to see a lot of entries for the next challenge. I can already tell that judging won't be easy.
