Weekly Challenge #40 - Merry Christmas
Posted By: fletcherkane, 12-10-2007, 07:35 PM

Alright, this one seems to be a no brainer for a topic, considering the time of year. So, give me your best interpretation of this topic. Also, so as not to offend, I will gladly accept anyone's interpretation of "Happy Holidays" as well...

The contest will run until Midnight EST, Monday, December 17. Good Luck.
Here, as always are the rules....

The rules:
1. Post ONE photo (max 800x800) as a response to THIS post.
2. The photo must portray an interpretation of the theme. It can be colour or B&W, your choice.
3. You can offer as much or as little additional information as you wish, but I'd be interested to know the location/event/whatever being depicted.
4. The challenge is interactive. Any response is welcome.
5. The judge will pick the WINNERS and chose 1 of them to be the judge for the next week.
6. The challenge runs for 7 days plus a day for the judge to choose the winners.
7. Any camera will do but it must be a Pentax. Just use any camera you want. No discriminating anyone as long as the shooter is an active member here.

Previous Challenge Subjects:
1-Statues, 2-Wheels, 3-Speed, 4-Peace, 5-Survival, 6-Macro, 7-Mountains, 8-Children, 9-Post Processing, 10- Windows & Doors, 11-Sport, 12-Urban Landscape, 13-Wisdom, 14-Power, 15-Music, 16-Pathways, 17-Lines, 18-Storm, 19-Boats, 20-Water, 21 - Golden Hour, 22 - Natural Lighting, Portraits, 23- Motion Blur, 24-Simplicity, 25-Color, 26-Cars, 27-Repetition, 28-Wildlife, 29-Epiphany, 30-Contrast, 31-Pets, 32-Landscapes, 33-Coastal, 34-Churches, 35-Bridges, 36-Creation, 37-Still LIfe: Food, 38-At the Zoo, 39-Wide Aperature.

Good luck to all!

Sorry, I'm new and haven't done one of these yet. Should I just put the picture in as an attachment in my reply, or should I upload it to a gallery and link to it?

Just put it in as an attachment to a posting.
If you go into the top line of the threads ( under weekly competitions,), Mo's thread titled "Some Guidelines" , all the original instructions etc should be available.

This was taken with the kit lens on my K110D. This is downtown Salt Lake City at what is known as Temple Square. They always do a fantastic job on lighting up the square. This building has been around for a long time and is called The Assembly Hall.

From the Grinchy side of things

I mean what can be more Christmassy than a shot of an electric train? Almost every boy's (and many girls) most wanted Christmas toy from time immemorial. Tho of course I don't think many would get this car in their set. DS, FA 50 1.4 f4.5 at 1/250

I think it means Use any Pentax Camera...film, P and S, or DSLR.... Maybe we can task this weeks winner to reword this rule...kinda hard to enforce anyway...

Well.......... Shot with my FujibeforeIgotmyPentaxK100D camera. So, unfortunately, it doesn't comply with the rules but I wanted to show it anyway.
