POTW #186 16 Oct 2011 - 30 Oct 2011
Posted By: ramseybuckeye, 10-22-2011, 09:07 PM

Welcome to edition 186 of the Pentax Forums' Picture of the Week. Thanks to pentaximus for hosting the previous week.

This edition covers photos from 16 Oct 2011 - 30 Oct 2011. That lets you show off any shots you took last week but haven't processed until now. In other words, you can post your shots from this week AND last week

POTW is a great place to show what you've been shooting day-to-day. It gives us all a chance to see what other members are up to with their Pentax (and Samsung) cameras in the parts of the world in which they live or have visited. We can share ideas, learn from one another, and have a good time.

So show us what you've seen in your little corner of the planet! Looking forward to seeing all of what's out there this week. A special welcome to all new members!

Again same rules as always:

1) No theme, just post your favourite pix.

2) Lets keep it to fewer than 6 images per post just so the thread doesn't get too big each week.

3) Any Pentax camera or Samsung SLR is fine, whether it's film, P&S, or DSLR.

4) Enter anything you shot last week or during this current week until the thread closes.

5) The current host will appoint the new host as an invitation via Private Message (PM). If possible, the new thread will be linked to the previous one and the new thread will start between Noon EDT and 5PM EDT on Sunday. If the thread doesn't start, please contact Peter Zack, Moderator via PM.

Here are the links to previous POTW threads:

Try a certain SMC 400MM F5.6 that made its way across the Pacific Ocean.Or was it another member I bought it from, might have to check my marketplace feedback for details.

Yep. It had been 5 years since we went last, far too long! Just beautiful up there.

John, I hope the apple was as good as the photo of it's carcass, very creative, I don't believe I've ever seen an apple core as the focus with a beautiful landscape. Gorgeous camera you found up there too!

lukulele, I can hear it now, Hi de hi de hi de ho! I hope you'll be able to take some shots of the performance too. Fun song. I may have to pull up you tube and search for Cab Calloway.

Yes it was, thanks Tom. Here's a couple from today at Salem Lake. It's been partially drained while repair work is done on the dam.

I'll give a big shout out to Iso50 for the fall colors. It's a part of home that doesn't exist in southern Taiwan.

A couple more before the week is out. I liked the early morning lighting here:

And here's one from later that same morning:

Testing Out a Tak

A few shot from the rose bush out my back door (just testing lens all hand held, but a few turned out just about right)

First shot with a 55mm SMC Tak. Turned out a bit dreamy I think.

Second with a Sigma 24mm Super Wide.

Last but not least is with a Sigma 70-200 f2.8 (I had forgotten how nice this lens is)

The bokeh in the second shot captures the magic of morning dew beautifully!

I have been incredibly busy the past week or 2 with family events and haven't been online or shooting anything other than family shots. Yesterday, winter returned to the Adirondacks and a few quick shots from my backyard this morning. We always dread the return of winter but it does make the mundane everyday view something beautiful. Another plus, I can now put off raking the leaves until April.
