Weekly Challenge 185 - Industry
Posted By: Graham V, 11-08-2011, 11:18 AM

This week's challenge theme is "Industry".

This has been touched upon before but I thought it would be interesting to encourage a wide variety of interpretations of Industry.......Buildings, marine, archealogical, people and behavior.
Don't let my thoughts limit you, as long as you can justify it...it qualifies.

The competition will close Tuesday Midnight (gmt) ish and announce the winners Wednesday afternoon.

The fine print....
1. Post ONE photo (max 1024x1024).
2. The photo must portray an interpretation of the theme.
3. Post your single picture in this thread, and explain what motivated you to take the picture and/or how you feel it represents the weekly theme (especially if it's not obvious).
4. The challenge is interactive. Any response is welcome.
5. The judge will pick the WINNERS and choose 1 of them to be the judge for the next week.
6. This challenge runs for 7 days plus a day for the judge to choose the winners.
7. Any Pentax (or Samsung DSLR) camera will do.
8. Pictures can be from any time frame, not just within the week of the current theme.
9. In case the winner of a challenge is unable to become the judge for the next challenge, they will PM the #2 winner for that person to be the judge.

And the final rule...have fun with this.

Thanks for hosting this weeks challenge Graham. Here is my submission... an old abandoned mill we came across while hiking through the bush.

That building is well preserved, Tess. Here's my entry, a chimney at an abandoned hospital. We think this was where the medical waste was burned.

Wow, three excellent entries already, a little intimidating, great stuff Tess, Kyle, and Tamia.

I took this one in January. I see this view on my way to work, it is kind of cool at dawn. Interesting is the area between the subject and where I took the picture from, it has a river and a farm field with woods close by, and a nice herd of whitetail deer.

I believe the other challenge is the official one, as casil403 was announced as the winner of Challenge 184.

Blimey..............this could get confusing.

If nobody has any objections, I will close this thread so we can all concentrate on Lisa's Challenge.

Oh dear... well, my suggestion is you and Lisa run 185 separately as it, and the two winners get together to run 186. Does that sound okay?

I think you should contact a moderator and have them lock this thread.

Tim

PS: I did like your challenge topic choice.

Any reason we can't have two at the same time just this once? There are many great photos in both, and the themes are so diverse. The winner's could have fun sharing next weeks challenge. It is a just for fun competition.

So you want two people to coordinate their schedules to choose a single challenge topic, then come to an agreement on a winner? You can do what you want but I've already deleted my entry from this unofficial challenge.
