Weekly Challenge 188 - Center Composition

Weekly Challenge 188 - Center Composition

Arjay Bee, the winner of Challenge 187 is on the road for the next couple of weeks and has asked me to host this challenge.

Most photographers strive to follow the rule of thirds when it comes to composing their images. Sometimes it is better to break the rule than to follow it. Show me your best composition where the subject is dead center in the frame.

This competition is open from Wednesday, December 7th until 7 AM EST on Wednesday, December 14th.

Good luck everyone!

Tim

The fine print....
1. Post ONE photo (max 1024x1024).
2. The photo must portray an interpretation of the theme.
3. Post your single picture in this thread, and explain what motivated you to take the picture and/or how you feel it represents the weekly theme (especially if it's not obvious).
4. The challenge is interactive. Any response is welcome.
5. The judge will pick the WINNERS and choose 1 of them to be the judge for the next week.
6. This challenge runs for 7 days plus a day for the judge to choose the winners.
7. Any Pentax (or Samsung DSLR) camera will do.
8. Pictures can be from any time frame, not just within the week of the current theme.
9. In case the winner of a challenge is unable to become the judge for the next challenge, they will PM the #2 winner for that person to be the judge.

Hayleighwarry, I cannot see your shot - it might be because I'm at work, the IT people block lots of stuff.

Sort of in the middle - the trestle across Jetty Lagoon at Fort Stevens State Park, Oregon. The trestle was built and used by the Army Corps of Engineers to haul rock to build the south jetty at the mouth of the Columbia River.

Atupdate, you've certainly chosen a popular subject, and I certyainly like centre compositions-maybe just a rebellious streak. I have so many. Chosen this one-Early morning Giraffe from my favorite place in the world-Kruger National Park.

Being a newbie I often forget to follow the rule of thirds, so its not a problem to find a suitable capture (although I think I've seen a couple of candidates for winning this already)!

Closeup of branch by Bill Cheung on Flickr

70mm macro lens. Subtle linear bokeh looked kind of neat.
