Posted By: Woolly, 01-17-2012, 02:11 PM

In this challenge lets see the world from the perspective of someone who's lifestyle is completely opposite from yours.

-Jeff

This competition is open from now until midnight EST on Friday, January 24, 2012.

Have fun!

The fine print....
1. Post ONE photo (max 1024x1024).
2. The photo must portray an interpretation of the theme.
3. Post your single picture in this thread, and explain what motivated you to take the picture and/or how you feel it represents the weekly theme (especially if it's not obvious).
4. The challenge is interactive. Any response is welcome.
5. The judge will pick the WINNERS and choose 1 of them to be the judge for the next week.
6. This challenge runs for 7 days plus a day for the judge to choose the winners.
7. Any Pentax (or Samsung DSLR) camera will do.
8. Pictures can be from any time frame, not just within the week of the current theme.
9. In case the winner of a challenge is unable to become the judge for the next challenge, they will PM the #2 winner for that person to be the judge.

Being a male engineer living in suburbia, you can't get more opposite than a homemaker from 1898.

This took some thought. An intriguing challenge, Jeff. I'm going off the wall here and will submit this:

Life in the Sky

A goldfinch's life is about as far from my own as any can be, I think. He is a creature of the sky, finds his food by foraging for seeds, has feathers instead of hair, can't grasp his food with hands but needs beak and feet, and his mate lays eggs. He can fly and I never will!

Same as it ever was

I came across this gentleman working while on a business trip through Ohio. It made me think of how little somethings change overtime. The sky was a glorious deep blue and the colors were quite pleasant but when I turned everything to black and white, well, the shot took on a life and meaning of its own (IMO). Working in the video field and rarely moving from my editor's chair certainly is about as opposite as it gets! (Side note) I also realized that one doesn't always have to shoot at "golden time" to get great light and contrast.

Nice finch, wish we could fly!

Thank you sir! Had a great week rummaging around Northern Ohio right at the peak of fall colors. Couldn't have asked for a better walk-about!

No Way, Thank You
Such an activity may be exhilarating for some, but not on my agenda, any time.

Not of Torres Strait Islander descent, not female, not 14 years old, not a fisherperson - therefore opposite!

Really interesting and wonderful images for this weeks challenge. Sorry mine is skewed, but it was the first thing that popped into my mind when I saw the topic heading. Tamia, I think a bird of prey must have tried to carry it off, unsuccessfully. What remains of the deer and wolf tracks were close by. It was a strange discovery.
