Picture of the week #203 12 February to 26 Feb. 2012

POTW # 203! 12 February - 26 Feb 2012
Welcome to edition #203 of the Pentax Forums' Picture of the Week. Special thanks to cif for hosting the previous week and inviting me to host the 203rd edition of this series.

This edition covers photos from 12 February - 26 Feb 2012. That lets you show off any shots you took last week but haven't processed until now. In other words, you can post your shots from this week AND last week.

POTW is a great place to show what you've been shooting day-to-day. It gives us all a chance to see what other members are up to with their Pentax (and Samsung) cameras in the parts of the world in which they live or have visited. We can share ideas, learn from one another, and have a good time.

So show us what you've seen in your little corner of the planet! Looking forward to seeing all of what's out there this week. A special welcome to all new members!

Again same rules as always:

1) No theme, just post your favorite pix.

2) Lets keep it to fewer than 6 images per post just so the thread doesn't get too big each week.

3) Any Pentax camera or Samsung SLR is fine, whether it's film, P&S, or DSLR.

4) Enter anything you shot last week or during this current week until the thread closes.

5) The current host will appoint the new host as an invitation via Private Message (PM). If possible, the new thread will be linked to the previous one and the new thread will start between Noon EDT and 5PM EDT on Sunday. If the thread doesn't start, please contact bluestringer, Moderator via PM.

Here are the links to previous POTW threads:

Thanks for hosting RollsUp! Gosh that first shot with that slab of ice/snow! Makes me want a violet crumble

Also really like that last pic of the ice on glass (?).

Here's one from last night. Went out to feed the wolfies and spotted it sitting on the chair.

This one taken with a little handheld 3 LED torch shining from below

And this was without any lighting except for the balcony light on. That's Elsie's nose you see snuffling.

Great start and thanks for hosting, rollsup. Makes me glad we're having a mild Winter so far.

wolfie girl, great shot of the tree frog and dog nose, that's a winner.

DJSponge, excellent flowers, great detail!

Took a drive yesterday, I may have cross posted these, forgive me.

This is a night shot of 'The Blade' which is a well known building on the Reading Skyline (in fact its the tallest building in town ).
Thought I'd get right up close with the Tamron 10-24mm.

Thanks for taking on hosting duties this week Rolls Up. We have had very little snow this winter so I have been focusing on some of the left over foliage from last summer.

Had to go out and check some potential venues for work yesterday afternoon.

Got a bit bored waiting for my coworker to come out of the loo, so took out the camera. These were all taken at 18mm on the sigma 18-200 megazoom, aimed directly at the ceiling.

There's some really interesting buildings at the University all with different architectural styles. I think I'll need to go back one afternoon just to take photos. These were taken more out of boredom than anything else, but my coworker got the point about me shooting randomly, so I felt a bit embarrased later on when I spotted something else that actually pricked my interest and didn't shoot it. Regretted not doing it later on, but yeah - might have to go back one afternoon and just lug the camera around without a baffled work colleague looking over my shoulder.

On the way home, I tried another attempt at one of the new buildings in town.

I think it turned out much better this time. It was taken while I was sitting at the lights waiting for it to turn. I'm sure the pedestrian who was crossing the road was looking at me super strangely. I usually have the camera in my lap while I drive. Canberra lights are notoriously long - and don't even get me started on the drivers... :ugh:

After leaving town and onto the highway it started to bucket down with rain. This was taken just before I hit the storm. Pretty pleased with this one. Driving one handed with the camera aimed at the freeway. sssssh, don't tell the insurers!

I especially like 1, 3 and 4--and the rain shot. Interesting building in those first ones.
