Project 52 - 4- 30 : Perspective - Wide angle
Posted By: photolady95, 04-22-2012, 01:56 PM

Theme for this week. Perspective - Wide angle

Time Frame: pictures for Week 30 are to be taken between April 22 through April 29, 2012.

PROJECT 52 - 4

Following are the Rules and Weekly Projects for year 4. Thanks goes to Dan (DanLoc78) for getting this going, and to Rob (Mithrandir) for hosting year 3.

Rules :
1. Anyone and everyone who is interested is eligible. The goal continues to be
to have fun and share comments, concepts, insights, and techniques with fellow
Pentaxians.
2. Each week will feature a Theme and Sub-concept for you to explore.
3. Post your single picture in Project 52-4 thread for the week. Explain what
motivated you to take the picture and/or how you feel it represents the weekly
theme.
4. Some post-processing is OK (adjusting white balance, exposure, color
saturation), but let's try to stay away from heavily PP'ed images here. Try to
keep the creativity to photographic techniques and the captures themselves.
5. There is one “Theme Concept” labeled “black and white,” but feel free to post
black and white, sepia, monotone, etc., for any of the other themes.
6. The picture you post should be taken during the week in which the theme is
active to be eligible for judging.
7. Any picture taken within the period of P52-4 is acceptable for the two “Seasonal” competitions – Projects 52-3-51 & 52!1

Since Xman is related to me, he will not be entering in this weeks contest. I will have him help me judge the entries, though. Good luck everyone!

At The Carnival

This was photographed with a Polaroid Studio Series .43X High Definition Wide-Angle Lens (bought through the Pentaxforums.com Marketplace) mounted on a Pentax 18-55 mm set at 18 mm. The camera is a handheld K100D. (I like a solarized version of this photo, too.)

Comments and suggestions are welcome. (You're welcome to use PM or e-mail for those if you'd rather not clutter this thread.)

I have been using the DA 10-17 fish-eye all month so wide angle is a given. I would like to enter this shot because it really pushes the ultra-wide but it is processed a little more than perhaps the instructions indicate. In this situation I felt a grittier look was totally appropriate (and quite frankly I just ran it through a plug-in). This is a memorial wall for a hospital that was imploded to reduce the deficit, leaving a woefully inadequate number of hospital beds for a city of over one million.

Shadowland Those aren't white boulders, by the way. They're very large "snowballs" created by the plow blade.

Windy spring day

This P52 theme just came at the right time because last week I bought the DA 15 mm limited. So, I spend the past days mostly doing wide angle shots ;-)

I'm not sure if 28mm is wide enough for wide angle, but, this is my simple photo for this week. A door.

David- falling in love is not a good thing-especially if it is a lens, of all things! It will take over your life, demand all your time, very costly, demands to be touched and hugged an handled etc. I'm sure you get the picture. Get rid of it while you can!

Great images everyone.
