Project 52 - 4- 30 : Perspective - Wide angle - Winners

Thank you everyone for your excellent submissions. This is my first time judging, so I hope I do this right

Smf – I like the perspective that the picture was taken from, and the sense of height that is achieved

Jmschrei – Nice detail on the wall and concrete ground. I think the “Beg for mercy” tag is completely appropriate and makes the shot that much better.

Tamia - I’m drawn to the shadow of the tree more than anything else. I feel like the shot almost has a slight fisheye effect to it.

Davidw0815 - I really enjoy this picture. I like the way that it makes you feel like your being drawn towards something.

Noelcmn - Nice contrast in this image. The trees seem to line up nicely in the foreground.

Arn - I like how the lines from the railroad timber and all of the horizontal lines in the picture contrast each other. It also looks like you followed the rule of thirds for the horizon line and the upper railroad line

Ramseybuckeye - There are a lot of cool lines in this picture. I especially like the way the arrows on the street seem to go with the direction of the wind.

WWIFA - I think that anything 35mm and under on a full-frame camera is considered to be wide angle. With the crop factor of a Pentax DSLR your 28mm would be the equivalent of 42mm, so it would not be considered wide-angle. I think your picture is awesome, though. I like the DOF and think the choice to have it be B&W is a good one.

Honorable Mention – Arn

Congratulations David and Joe -- well done! -- and thanks for 2nd, Cooter. Thanks also for judging!

@Tamia

I tried different variations of that last night, but none of them seemed to work.

Congratulations David, Tamia, Joe and Arn. Thanks Cooter, Great job! I so rarely use anything that wide I need to get my eye for this sort of thing.

Re: pictures I'm not that computer savvy, but, in the past I had just highlighted the image until it turned blue and copy and pasted in the new thread.

Congratulations David (my pain is getting worse. Great pics. Congrats too Tamia and Jmschrei and Arn for the HM. This was a fun challenge, and though I only have the kit lens-18-55mm, it has made me think about getting a wide angle lens. Thanks for your comments and judging Cooter. The next challenge I see is even tougher.
