Project 52 - 4 - 33 Shutter speed - Fast
Posted By: photolady95, 05-13-2012, 11:01 AM

Theme for this week. Shutter Speed - Fast

Time Frame: pictures for Week 32 are to be taken between May 13 through May 20, 2012.

PROJECT 52 - 4

Following are the Rules and Weekly Projects for year 4. Thanks goes to Dan (DanLoc78) for getting this going, and to Rob (Mithrandir) for hosting year 3.

Rules :
1. Anyone and everyone who is interested is eligible. The goal continues to be
to have fun and share comments, concepts, insights, and techniques with fellow
Pentaxians.
2. Each week will feature a Theme and Sub-concept for you to explore.
3. Post your single picture in Project 52-4 thread for the week. Explain what
motivated you to take the picture and/or how you feel it represents the weekly
theme.
4. Some post-processing is OK (adjusting white balance, exposure, color
saturation), but let's try to stay away from heavily PP'ed images here. Try to
keep the creativity to photographic techniques and the captures themselves.
5. There is one “Theme Concept” labeled “black and white,” but feel free to post
black and white, sepia, monotone, etc., for any of the other themes.
6. The picture you post should be taken during the week in which the theme is
active to be eligible for judging.
7. Any picture taken within the period of P52-4 is acceptable for the two “Seasonal” competitions – Projects 52-3-51 & 52!1

Good morning, photolady. Does this mean that no one has posted anything (so far, at least) on Project 52 - 4 - 33 Shutter speed - Fast? What a shame! I was looking forward to seeing what people were doing in "fast shutter speeds". Oh, well ...

Yes, that is what it means. But I have known members to post at the last minute, so we'll hope someone comes around and posts before the cut off date.

Would it be possible to have an extension for this comp? We are in the middle of Canada's Victoria Day long weekend and it has been hard to get out for this shoot.

I'll try later today, but an extension at least till tomorrow night would be welcomed.

Tess, usually the judge would say how long it stays open. And usually, it doesn't close on Sunday like it's supposed to do, it stays open until Monday or Tuesday. We'll have to wait and see what Ash says.

Not really what I would have liked, but I have had very little time over the weekend, and only managed half hour for a couple of shots, and took the opportunity to shoot some passing cars at a highway bridge close to where I live. These cars would be travelling at +120kmh (75mph). Shot at 4000sec

Eclipse at Sunset

This was taken on Sunday 20 May 2012, so it just qualifies. Probably not what you meant by fast shutter speed, but I shot this at F22 and 1/2000 sec. at 100 ISO, no filters.

Car and Power Towers

This photo was taken today with the "electricity" weekly challenge in mind. But it would seem to fit the criteria of this thread and it has not been posted elsewhere. The traffic on the highway in front of the towers moves at 100 kmph (60 mph) and 1/800th seems to have stopped the car in its tracks.
