#206: Electricity!
Posted By: ramseybuckeye, 05-20-2012, 12:43 PM

Show us a "electric" photo, something that represents electricity, this should not be that hard if you can read this. AC or DC, high voltage or friction shock. Don't do anything to get hurt or hurt your Pentax! Have fun with this, I'll follow with a couple of seed photos, but this could be wide open!

New participants are more than welcome to join in, by the way. The more the better. Make my job difficult!

This challenge is open NOW and closes at 0700 GMT+1 on 27th of May.
Have fun!
Tom

The fine print....
1. Post ONE photo (max 1024x1024).
2. The photo must portray an interpretation of the theme.
3. Post your single picture in this thread. If it's no obvious, explain what motivated you to take the picture and/or how you feel it represents the weekly theme.
4. The challenge is interactive. Any response is welcome.
5. The judge will pick the WINNERS and choose one of them to be the judge for the next week.
6. This challenge closes after 7 days, then allows for a day for the judge to choose the winners.
7. Any Pentax (or Samsung DSLR) camera will do.
8. Pictures can be from any time frame, not just within the week of the current theme.
9. In case the winner of a challenge is unable to become the judge for the next challenge, the winner will PM the #2 winner and pass the baton to that person to be the judge.

Nice of you to take over this one Tom.
Here is one enormous provider of electricity in the west.

Good theme for a challenge.

This is a detail of an electrical control panel of a German WW I submarine. The wires in the middle are fuses. Note the scale of the ampere-meters!

Power Transmission Field

I am enouraged to upload the attached file partly because there is not yet another such power transmission line posted. This was taken mid-day without a cloud in the sky - honest - it was this blue. The meta-file is attached. There is a slight perspective distortion. I corrected some of it, but it was mostly on the right - if I corrected any more, then the left side went out of whack and I have not yet learned to to correct the perspective on just one side - can it even be done?

OK Boss Tom-We'll make your life diffiicult. Good Theme BTW. RM Barker, I am encouraged by your entry, to post this one. The big difference is that on this occasion A highveld storm was brewing, so characteristic of Johannesburg. These storms usually don't last for more than half hour or so, but fierce, with lightning and Thunder, a shower and its over. Happens daily in the summer rainfall season. Before the advent of global warming, ozone holes etc etc, you could almost set you time by it in the old days. We called it "civil servants"rain-as it happened before they went home.

Tessfully: what happened to your replacement photo? Reverting to your cabin in the woods, I'm afraid, makes the competition much more difficult for the rest of us. We are overcast today and I went out to the same site of the towers I posted yesterday and captured a better image today, I think. As a theme picture, I love the cabin in the woods at night!
