#208 - The path of water
Posted By: Clou, 06-07-2012, 01:57 AM

It is becoming increasingly difficult to find a meaningful subject, I hope that this is not too strange, but I chose it as it is part of what I look at (and photograph) from time to time.

I am looking for water as primary subject in the context of:
Production of tap water.
Use - industrial or at home.
Wastewater treatment.

I think that all entries could make an interesting series of this subject.

Judging will be difficult, as I will have to deal with a lot of different approaches, hope that this will be OK.

Now, make it even more difficult for me

I will post two examples for a start - here it will be the collection of water at the source and transport.

The challenge is open now and will end on Friday 15th of June at 17h00 GMT+1

I am looking forward to the entries!

Michael

The fine print....
1. Post ONE photo (max 1024x1024).
2. The photo must portray an interpretation of the theme.
3. Post your single picture in this thread. If it's no obvious, explain what motivated you to take the picture and/or how you feel it represents the weekly theme.
4. The challenge is interactive. Any response is welcome.
5. The judge will pick the WINNERS and choose one of them to be the judge for the next week.
6. This challenge closes after 7 days, then allows for a day for the judge to choose the winners.
7. Any Pentax (or Samsung DSLR) camera will do.
8. Pictures can be from any time frame, not just within the week of the current theme.
9. In case the winner of a challenge is unable to become the judge for the next challenge, the winner will PM the #2 winner and pass the baton to that person to be the judge.

Great topic, Michael. This one came to mind immediately...

Dam Flow This low-head dam has been refurbished in modern times but began as a mill dam. Now it supplies water for a water treatment facility, and is being modified to generate electricity.

Niagra Falls

I really tried not come up with something that had to do with electricity but I just didn't have anything else that would fit the theme. Forgiven?
The wind was creating a mighty mist on this day.

Hope Springs

Here's a shot of one of the many streams that flow from the springs in the township of Hope, BC. The spring just so happens to feed the Nestle bottled water plant in Hope, which is the largest in Western Canada. If you've ever had 'Pure Life' water, it probably came from here.

This is the reservoir closest to where I live. About an hour of public transportation (subway + bus). One of my favorite places to get some fresh air.

And now for something completely different... the flow of water (temporarily) stopped in its tracks.
