The colors of nature
Posted By: NaClH2O, 08-22-2012, 05:21 PM

Welcome to another Weekly Challenge!

The challenge this week is to show the colors (or colours) of nature. Sunrise, sunset, flowers, tropical fish, butterflies, autumn foliage..."purple mountains majesty" or the "wine dark sea"... the possibilities are endless. A new photo or one from your archives, show me the Mother in all her glory.

Have fun and make my job judging really difficult!

The fine print....
1. Post ONE photo (max 1024x1024).
2. The photo must portray an interpretation of the theme.
3. Post your single picture in this thread. If it's not obvious, explain what motivated you to take the picture and/or how you feel it represents the weekly theme.
4. The challenge is interactive. Any response is welcome.
5. The judge will pick the WINNERS and choose one of them to be the judge for the next week.
6. This challenge closes after 7 days, then allows for a day for the judge to choose the winners.
7. Any Pentax (or Samsung DSLR) camera will do.
8. Pictures can be from any time frame, not just within the week of the current theme.
9. In case the winner of a challenge is unable to become the judge for the next challenge, the winner will PM the #2 winner and pass the baton to that person to be the judge.

Challenge will end Thursday August 30th 12midnight US EDT.

Previous 13 Challenge Subjects: 203 - Two of a Kind, 204 - Beyond the Beauty Strip, 205 - Color Monochromes, 206 - Electricity, 207-Stop Action, 208-The path of water, 209 - Song Lyrics, 210 - Center It, 211-Abandoned, 212 - Trees, 213 - Fences, 214 - Physical Strain, 215 - The Daily Grind

Nature was putting on a spectacular sunset at Rock Harbor-Orleans Ma making it a big attraction for many to enjoy.Trees are placed in the harbor every year that serve as guides for boats coming and going. At low tide you can walk out nearly a mile and at high tide the sand is covered by 10 ft of water.---charliezap

I already posted my picture for the contest and it was tough deciding which one I would post.I was thinking of doing a collage like this one with many of nature's colors present.Hopefully my official Cape Cod sunset will do well and good luck to everyone who participates.--charliezap

NaCIH20-you are gonna need a good wiskey after this challenge. Good grief, what an incredible collection of images.
Lilac Breasted Roller- Kruger National Park. Legend has it that Shaka, king of the Mighty Zulu nation, had the feathers of this bird in his royal headgear.

This was taken last week while on holiday, it was the colours of the lily that attracted me to this macro shot.
