# 218 Wisdom
Posted By: Rense, 09-16-2012, 12:10 PM

Welcome to Weekly Challenge #218. Another round, another chance....

We've done a lot of things in this challenge, and I wanted to have a more 'abstract' theme this time. So, sitting on the sofa this Sunday afternoon, I thought it would be nice to see your interpretation of wisdom this week. I know, wisdom is hard to catch in a photo, but I guess there are many ways to interpret this one. Probably it's a good idea to explain the wisdom in your photo if there is any chance I could misinterpret things, or bluntly won't understand....

As always: have fun shooting!!

The fine print....
1. Post ONE photo (max 1024x1024).
2. The photo must portray an interpretation of the theme.
3. Post your single picture in this thread. If it's not obvious, explain what motivated you to take the picture and/or how you feel it represents the weekly theme.
4. The challenge is interactive. Any response is welcome.
5. The judge will pick the WINNERS and choose one of them to be the judge for the next week.
6. This challenge closes after 7 days, then allows for a day for the judge to choose the winners.
7. Any Pentax (or Samsung DSLR) camera will do.
8. Pictures can be from any time frame, not just within the week of the current theme.
9. In case the winner of a challenge is unable to become the judge for the next challenge, the winner will PM the #2 winner and pass the baton to that person to be the judge.

Challenge will end Sunday September 23rd 12midnight US EDT.

Previous 10 Challenge Subjects: 208-The path of water, 209 - Song Lyrics, 210 - Center It, 211-Abandoned, 212 - Trees, 213 - Fences, 214 - Physical Strain, 215 - The Daily Grind, 216 - Colors of nature, 217 - Heavy Industry

Wisdom comes to those who wait. OK, I took a bit of license with the saying but hey... license is my middle name.

The epitome of wisdom

I couldn't come up with a shot until I saw it right in front of me.The family was over for my birthday last week and these are some of the cards that I received with the wisdom theme staring me right in the face for over a week.--charliezap

Not really sure if my entry is on topic but in IMHO to become wise you have to learn so I just hope my daughter keeps on learning

I'll go with Charliezap's idea for this theme, that of parental wisdom. Its a source, not only of wisdom for living, but also protection and provision. In this capture of a male Double Banded Sandgrouse with its chick, I consider this the epitome of wisdom, to take heed to parental wisdom, especially teenagers, but of course all ages. This chick would not survive a day without its parents constant care, coaxing and leading it to places that provide the best camouflage as well as food.

Buddha at the Museum of Anthropology

To walk safely through the maze of human life, one needs the light of wisdom, the guidance of virtue, a good tripod, and a polarizing filter. -Buddha (mostly)

This one is closed. I hope I will find time to judge it tonight, because tomorrow is filled. Otherwise it has to wait another day...
