Theme for this week 47 - Architecture - Interior

Time Frame: pictures for Week 47 are to be taken between September 16, through September 23, 2012.

PROJECT 52 - 4

Following are the Rules and Weekly Projects for year 4.
Thanks goes to Dan (DanLoc78) for getting this going, and to Rob (Mithrandir) for hosting year 3.

Rules :
1. Anyone and everyone who is interested is eligible. The goal continues to be
to have fun and share comments, concepts, insights, and techniques with fellow
Pentaxians.
2. Each week will feature a Theme and Sub-concept for you to explore.
3. Post your single picture in Project 52-4 thread for the week. Explain what
motivated you to take the picture and/or how you feel it represents the weekly
theme.
4. Some post-processing is OK (adjusting white balance, exposure, color
saturation), but let's try to stay away from heavily PP'ed images here. Try to
keep the creativity to photographic techniques and the captures themselves.
5. There is one “Theme Concept” labeled “black and white,” but feel free to post
black and white, sepia, monotone, etc., for any of the other themes.
6. The picture you post should be taken during the week in which the theme is
active to be eligible for judging.
7. Any picture taken within the period of P52-4 is acceptable for the two “Seasonal” competitions – Projects 52-3-51 & 52!1

Gosh this is a hard one. Tomorrow our power will be on a scheduled shut down for 6 hours, and, I am not anywhere near an interesting interior architectural shoot. I hope to come up with something before tomorrow night.

Wow, this has indeed proven more difficult than I thought. Several buildings I had in mind for this, but the security guards refused to allow me to take a photo without the permission of the owners or agents. Finally got a chance with the Johannesburg Theatre, and though I am not100% happy, this is the best I could get. It is a more modern theatre whereas I was hoping to capture an older building.

Hey Tom, I just got back and I managed to get a few photos, hoping for one good one for this challenge. But, I can't get to them till the morning. Can we have an extension?? thanks

Tom PM'd me and we're going to leave this up for another week. So, you all have until September 30th. Which makes this theme week 47 and 48.

And as aside, there are only 4 more weeks left to this weekly challenge. I am not taking it further than the 52 weeks, but if anyone of you wants to take over, shoot me a PM. It's been fun but I think the lack of participation is just that, people aren't as interested as they were in previous years.

It was hard to think of a place in Whitney with interesting interior architecture. Then it hit me.... and off I went to the Logging Museum to shoot the inside of the buildings. Had a great time and came home with some cool shots. This one is the Camboose Shanty where, in the 1800s, 52 White Pine loggers lived, slept (in their clothes, two men per bunk) cooked and ate.

Awesome shot Tess. I visited the Logging Museum about 22 years ago on our only trip through Algonquin just before heading back west after 6 years in Ontario. I think it was a more modest affair at the time but I loved the experience. I still have a great cassette of traditional logging tunes from the occasion!

I love architecture but have little practice shooting buildings, especially interiors, and this was a lot harder than I thought it would be.
