Theme for this week 49 - Architecture - Industrial

Time Frame: pictures for Week 49 are to be taken between October 1, through October 17, 2012.

PROJECT 52 - 4

Following are the Rules and Weekly Projects for year 4.
Thanks goes to Dan (DanLoc78) for getting this going, and to Rob (Mithrandir) for hosting year 3.

Rules :
1. Anyone and everyone who is interested is eligible. The goal continues to be
to have fun and share comments, concepts, insights, and techniques with fellow
Pentaxians.
2. Each week will feature a Theme and Sub-concept for you to explore.
3. Post your single picture in Project 52-4 thread for the week. Explain what
motivated you to take the picture and/or how you feel it represents the weekly
theme.
4. Some post-processing is OK (adjusting white balance, exposure, color
saturation), but let's try to stay away from heavily PP'ed images here. Try to
keep the creativity to photographic techniques and the captures themselves.
5. There is one “Theme Concept” labeled “black and white,” but feel free to post
black and white, sepia, monotone, etc., for any of the other themes.
6. The picture you post should be taken during the week in which the theme is
active to be eligible for judging.
7. Any picture taken within the period of P52-4 is acceptable for the two “Seasonal” competitions – Projects 52-3-51 & 52!1

This is part of a local steel mill. Not the greatest photo, but it's along a busy curving road, kind of dangerous. If I can get a pic I like better before the deadline I may replace this.

Well this has been a difficult one for me. There's not a lot of industry in the woods here, but there is a dammed river which generates electricity. So here's my entry, a basic brick utility building at the dam:

We only have two weeks left until the end of this year's Project 52. I haven't asked anyone else if they would like to moderate next one. But I can tell you all, I'm stepping down. This has become a battle and I'd rather thought it would have been more fun than this. Lack of participation doesn't help.

Maybe not enough "architecture" in my original submission, so I will change it to this one, taken on the same rainy day.

The new and last weeks is up. And I do mean last weeks. I've combined the last two weeks into one week.

Now I have a question for all of you. Does anyone of you want to take on the next year of this Project? As I said earlier, I'm stepping down. I took this on because the previous moderator, Rense, asked before the end of his reign if any one wanted to do this. I volunteered not realizing most people had already stopped posting in here. I can't really speak for what Rense thought when he asked someone else to take this on but I can speak on why I want to stop. It's not fun if it is more like work. So, anyone?

And I've combined the last two weeks, hoping we'll get more entries/entrants.

To all of you who stuck with me on this, and for the encouraging words and the great photos, thank you!
