Posted By: glennbp, 10-13-2012, 01:58 PM

Welcome to the Picture of the Week #235. Let's see plenty of great postings over the next week.

This week covers tth October to 20th October, 2012.

Again same rules as always:

1) No theme, just post your favorite pix.

2) Lets keep it to fewer than 6 images per post just so the thread doesn't get too big each week.

3) Any Pentax camera or Samsung SLR is fine, whether it's film, P&S, or DSLR.

4) Enter anything you shot last week or during this current week until the thread closes.

5) The current host will appoint the new host as an invitation via Private Message (PM). If possible, the new thread will be linked to the previous one and the new thread will start between Noon EDT and 5PM EDT on Sunday. If the thread doesn't start, please contact bluestringer, Moderator via PM.

@noelcmn - Beautiful photos! I especially like the ducklings (goslings?) shot. The detail is spot on. Did you use the 50mm lens?
Thank you Glen. Appreciated. Yep that the travelling Nifty Fifty. Marvelous lens, wish I had my own one. A slightly different gosling shots on the Nifty Fifty thread.

Yesterday evening. I was hoping for more color in the sky at sunset but we have to take what we get. I'm pushing the dynamic range of the K5 to the max here. I pulled up the shadows over 2 stops in Lightroom. Attempting to get any color in the trees blew the sky and water out totally so I shot for the sky and hoped for the best. I probably should have set up the tripod and did an HDR set. With the DA 15. Along the Hudson River between Corinth and Glens Falls.

Kiruna

Some pictures from Kiruna, Northern Sweden.
Kiruna is a small iron mine town.
Its up in the mountains, so summer is short and the winter is extreme cold.

@ohce - Gorgeous sunset! The colors are just amazing!

@reeftool - Love the landscape! Camera angle just draws you into the scene. Great job.

@Runegutt123 - I believe you. The footprints and tire tracks say it all. BRRRR!

Today's sunset had a little more color in the sky. Shot from under a bridge over Fish Creek, the outlet of Saratoga Lake. K5 and DA 15. I can't seem to get that lens off my camera.

I'm still enjoying my vacation. Today was a beautiful day to hit the road and I did. I headed east this time and did a loop into Vermont and back down through the Champlain Valley. There is still some color on some of the trees but the fall foliage season is well past its peak.

A picnic area just east of Cambridge in NY.

The Eaglesville covered bridge, in Washington County, NY.

The Battenkill River, one of the legendary trout fishing rivers in the area.

Another covered bridge, this one in Arlington, VT, crossing the Battenkill. The light was a bit harsh as all shots were mid afternoon and all with the K5 and DA 15. I had a CPL on a few shots. It cut down on some of the harsh light but on the wide lens, It doesn't seem to cover the frame and it shows in the sky. I was able to clean it up with the adjustment brush in Lightroom.

And why do you want to?
